We Spark and Fade
Back To The Beginning.
A blaring alarm sounded off into my ear signally that I need to wake up. First day of school after fall break.
"Charlie! Wake up! You don't want to be late!"
'How do you know I don't want to be late,' I thought to myself, silently arguing with my mother.
I always did that, for no reason. I loved my mom.
Whoot! New clothes. Sorry, sudden outburst. I just seen the Hot Topic bags on my floor and realized that I have a few new outfits. So of course, going to wear something new.
I quickly threw on my purple and black checkered jeans, beat-up chucks, and Ninja Turtles shirt.
"Charlie! Are you up?!"
"Yes mom! I'm almost ready, too!"
Gaw, she's such a sweetheart, but likes to talk a lot. Here I am, dogging my own mother when she didn't do anything to me. I'm that kind of person. Hard to get along with unless I've known you since I was real little.
*TIME LAPSE / 10 MINUTES*
I had my hair in a messy ponytail, and wore thick eyeliner with a bit of mascara. Make - up is one of my most valued possessions. I grabbed my dinosaur book bag, cell phone, and Metallica hoodie as I walked out my bedroom door, closing it behind me.
"Mom! I'm ready!"
"Okay!" She came from her room.
"I gotta grab some coffee real quick though."
"Just meet me in the car when you're ready to leave."
She walked past me and down the stairs. When I reached the kitchen, there was a full pot of coffee waiting for me. I filled my Styrofoam cup up, pushed a lid down onto it, and walked out the garage door. Mom was sitting in the car, it was running, as she did her make-up in the visor mirror. Old people and makeup, gross.
"Got everything?"
"Yep. Keys, phone, books, and coffee."
"Okay, well hop in and we can get going."
After my mother dropped me off at the school entrance, I walked into the building, went to my locker for a moment, then found the gym. My friends were sitting where we always sit before school; the bleachers in the gym.
Everyone else in the school usually met up in the halls or cafeteria, so we all decided that we'd go here, so we wouldn't have to deal with all those kids we hated. "Charlie!" Destiny squealed, she's a dork.
"Hi Des. How're things?"
"Eh, good? I guess. Nothing exciting still," she spoke with less enthusiasm this time.
"What have you 3 done since I last talked to you?"
Knowing what their answers would be, we all had a conversation on Yahoo last night, so nothing could've happened.
"I have new neighbors."
"Jerica, you do realize that we all live on the same street, right?"
"Yeah, I know, but they're moving into that old creepy house next door."
"Dude! Are you serious? That's next to my house!" Staci semi-yelled, pretending that she didn't know her and Jerica lived one house away.
"And, it's across the street from me!"
The pretend excitement continued with Destiny. We finally burst out with laughter, because no one spoke for a moment.
"Wow, well... uhh... I think we're killing brain cells but just speaking to one another, it's kinda sad."
I giggled at the thought of us when we're 30, completely brain dead and watching Barney.
"Ooo! My Chemical Romance is playing at The Pit this weekend, Friday and Saturday!" Whoot whoot. That band was amazing, they're only local, but we all really liked them.
"Oh my god, we have to go."
"What about camping?" Destiny said sternly.
"Are you serious?"
We all stopped and looked at Destiny.
"No! Of course not!"
She began to laugh.
"Okay, so, we're gonna be there early, so maybe we can finally meet the guys. Since they don't believe in a MySpace."
"Then we should all stay the night at someone's house."
That was that, we had our weekend planned out.
