Chapter Sixteen.

The next few weeks were pretty uneventful. Patrick and I would go on dates or we would stay at each other's places and hang out. Things were going well. I went to one of his games (I paid for it myself and sat far up with one of my friends. I went straight home after the game) and one day when I came over I saw him watching CNN. School started up again and I was excited for my classes this semester. I had a heavy course load but I was ready for it. One night I was working at my small kitchen table. History books, law books, a pocket copy of the Constitution, other random papers, and my Macbook all covered it. My hair was frizzy and half way put up in a ponytail. I sat back in my chair and looked at everything. I was stressed out looking at it. I had to make myself read two hundred pages tonight. Work on a paper about the Constitution. Write an essay analyzing a movie and relate politics to it. Define vocabulary words. Write down responses for a book. I hate my life. I heard a knock at my door and I looked at the clock on my laptop. It was 9:53 PM. Who the eff could be here? “If I answer the door are you going to harm me in anyway because I don't think my professors will give me an extension.” I said. “It's your boyfriend.” He said then came in. “You look hot.” He said with a wink as he came and sat in the chair next to me. “I'm so envious of you.” I said. “How so, my dear?” He asked me. “You didn't have to go to college and go through this.” I said pointing towards all my schoolwork. “Yeah, but I have to sweat and pass out everyday.” He said laughing. “Touche.” I said. “This is just for classes. I have things for clubs that need to get done.” I said whining. “Come on. Let's take a break.” Patrick said getting up and sitting on the couch. I was reluctant but I had been working since about 4:30 in the afternoon. I sighed and sat next to Patrick. I buried my face in his shoulder and starting yelling. “I was so excited for my classes this semester and now I don't have a life.” I said. “You only need me.” Patrick said laughing and rubbing my back. “I hate you.” I groaned. “I hate you, too.” Patrick said with a smile. I sat up and looked at Patrick. “What are you doing here so late?” I asked him. “I always come over after games?” He said. “YOU PLAYED TONIGHT?!” I asked yelling. “Yeah. We won five to three.” He said. “I didn't even remember.” I said groaning. “I'm so sorry.” I said. “Blaine, it's okay. You obviously have more pressing issues.” He said laughing. I shook my head. “I actually need to get home because traffic is a bitch for some reason tonight.” He said. I looked into Patrick's eyes and gave him a kiss. “I'm sorry.” I whispered. “Don't be. Just don't forget again.” He said laughing. Patrick left and I sat there on the couch. I looked over at the table and wondered why I was doing this to myself. I was a crappy girlfriend and probably a crappy student. My brain was not working and I hope I don't make any bad mistakes anytime soon. Eff school.
