Speechless.

I go into Delilah’s room and she’s lying there with tubes and wires everywhere. It makes me want to cry, but what is more heartbreaking was that she was still folding paper cranes.

“Hey.” I spoke and she turned to me.

“Hey.” She looks back down at her paper.

“I’m Christian Rowe, by the way.”

“You weren’t supposed to find out this way.” She says to me.

“Don’t you mean I wasn’t supposed to find out at all?” And for the first time, Delilah is speechless.
