She Was Fading

Lost.

I spend my days drunk and crying and in bed. Stella is worried. Crow is the only one who can help. It’s unorthodox but he picks a fight with me and we start punching each other. He nails me in the cheek and I fall hard.

“Fuck you.”

“Would she want you acting like this?”

”Fuck you.”

“You’re not the only one who lost her.” He says and I look up at him. He has tears in his eyes and it doesn’t look like they just began. I remember that I’m not the only one who loved her. I’m not the only one who was changed because of her.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote: “For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”

I will not ruin Caroline’s wish.
