All I could do was stare. I was speechless, in the awful sort of way. You turned around, and I let you. I was stiff, and unable to move or speak.
I should’ve stopped you.
I should’ve chased after you, and told you not to go.
I should’ve said something. I should’ve said anything. I should’ve said so much.
I should’ve taken the blame, because it was truly all my fault.
I should’ve let you try and fix things, like you wanted to.
I should’ve kept things from falling apart when I still had the chance.
I should’ve realized how empty I’d be when you left.
I should’ve told you I loved you.
But I didn’t.
