Seeing Double

When we first met...

Justin’s POV

I sat on the edge of my bed mindlessly playing a few riffs on my acoustic guitar. The notes blended together as I played, creating a soft melody. The melody echoed in my room, replacing the silence. I continued to play, simply enjoying the music from my guitar.

I stopped playing once I heard loud laughter from outside. The corners of my lips slowly turned upwards in a smile as I recognized the laughter.

I set my guitar down on the bed before walking over to the window. My smile grew wider at the sight.

Heaven and Neveah (Na/vay/ah) were walking past my house, arguing about something as they walked. I knew that they were walking home from school since they were still in their school uniforms. I looked over their appearances quickly, separating them from each other by their outfits.

Neveah’s hair was in a side ponytail underneath her black hat. This was one of the few ways that I could tell Neveah apart from her sister. She always wore her hair in a ponytail, while her sister would wear her hair different every day.

Heaven adjusted the strap on her purse as she stopped walking, arguing with her sister. This was another way that I could tell them apart. Neveah hated carrying purses, due to her being less girly than her sister. I wasn’t surprised that heaven decided to carry a purse for her books instead of a backpack.

The two twins continued to yell at each other, not caring if anyone heard them. Neveah pointed her drumsticks at her sister as she yelled. Heaven put her hand son her hips, yelling at her sister as well. They began to scream at each other in Spanish, a sign that both of them were beyond frustrated.

Neveah shook her head as her sister continued yelling at her. She then looked over her shoulder towards my house.

Her gaze immediately landed on my bedroom window. A smirk made its way onto her face as she noticed me standing there. Heaven then looked towards my window as well.

I smiled before nervously rubbing the back of my neck. I had just been caught staring at them. I knew that they were going to hold this over my head the next time they saw me. In fact, I expected them to invite themselves over, to point out my embarrassing moment, but they didn’t. Instead, they both smiled, and gave me a small wave hello.

A gesture as small as that, could cause my heart to thud against my chest. My breath caught in my throat as I smiled back at them.

There smiles grew wider before they began walking in the direction of their house. I sighed as I walked over to my bed. I fell down, landing face first into my pillow. The cool pillow provided me with a bit of comfort during my dilemma.

Everyday this seems to get harder. Every day I only seem to fall deeper in love with them. This wasn’t what I wanted to happen. I wanted to fall out of love with one of them, but I didn’t know who. My heart couldn’t make up its mind. Instead, my heart grew soft, admiring every little thing about them; allowing something as small as a smile, to send me into a fight to control my breathing.

I sighed as I closed my eyes. I could still remember the day that I met them. I remembered the day as if I could still live in the moment. I remembered everything about that day; it was the day that changed my life.

The sun was high in the sky, as I skateboarded down a sidewalk in my neighborhood. The wind that I was producing provided temporary comfort on that hot day. The temperature was around 85 degrees Fahrenheit, but the humidity made it feel as if it were closer to 90 degrees.

I pushed myself faster as I boarded down the street. I wanted to get home as soon as I could. The heat was starting to get to me. I knew that the air conditioning would be on at home. That’s all I could think about as I boarded down the sidewalk.

I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts by the sound of a dog barking. The sound seemed to get louder as I continued to ride. I looked behind me, to find the source of the barking.

A small dog was chasing after me. His tongue was hanging out of his mouth, as he ran, barking occasionally.

“Baby!!” a female voice shouted.

I shifted my gaze from the dog to see a girl chasing after him. She was running surprisingly fast, despite the fact that she hadn’t the dog. Her brunette hair was pulled back into a high ponytail. Her ponytail bounced as she continued to chase after the dog.

Even from a distance I could tell that she was hot. I decided to help her out, hoping that I could at least get to know her.

I stopped my board and stepped off. The dog barked once more as he ran towards me at full speed. When the dog was within reach I bent dog to grab him.

Instead of running into me, he ran around me, towards my board. The dog jumped on my board, using his legs to push himself off. He started to skateboard down the block, his tongue still hanging out of his mouth.

I couldn’t help but to laugh at the sight. Normally I would have been upset if anyone else tried to ride my board but this time I could give this dog an exception.

My laughter began to die down as the girl reached me. She stopped running, a sigh escaping her lips. I noticed that her breathing was only slightly irregular, as if she was hardly tired from the run. She watched the dog continue to push himself as she shook her head.

“I’m really sorry about this,” she spoke.

Before I could respond, she grabbed my hat from atop my head. She quickly tossed it as if it were a Frisbee.

I watched my hat gracefully fly over the dogs head. The dog barked once more before jumping off of my board, chasing after my hat. My hat began to reach the ground, only to be caught by the dog before it could. The dogs bark was muffled as he turned around to face us.

My jaw dropped slightly from the sight. Having a dog skateboard on my skateboard was one thing, but having a hot girl steal my hat to use it as a toy for him was another thing.

“Come here baby,” she spoke, patting her thigh twice.

The dog’s tail wagged as he began to jog over to us. She suddenly held up her hand, causing the dog to stop. His head tilted to the side slightly, confused. She pointed at the board as she placed a hand on her hip.

The dog quickly ran over to the board before climbing back onto it. He rode the board back over to us, stopping once he was in front of us.

I stood there astounded by what I had just seen. This wasn’t time first time that I have seen a dog do tricks, but these were something that I never expected.

“Good boy baby,” the girl spoke.

She picked up the dog, cradling him. She kissed the top of his head as she held him. She then set her gaze on me, allowing me to get a good look at her.

She had light caramel skin and brunette hair. There was a slight exotic look to her, Latina of some sort. Her frame wasn’t hourglass but it wasn’t thin either. She was a bit in-between hourglass, and thin. She had curves, but she wasn’t overdoing it.

Her eyes were a shade of brown that I couldn’t quite place. They were some were between honey brown and chestnut. Her eyes held a slight glow to them, from the sun reflecting off them.

Her soft plump lips turned upwards into a smile as she looked at me. Her eyes seemed to sparkle even more now that she was smiling.

Now that I was standing close to her, I could see that she wasn’t hot, she was gorgeous. She held an exotic look about her as well as a friendly appearance. I instantly smiled as I looked at her.

“Hey,” I greeted.

“Um…I’m really sorry about baby here,” she spoke, now looking at the dog in her arms, “baby”.

I could hear a slight accent in her voice. I couldn’t place what type of accent it was but I could tell that she was in fact Latina.

I flipped my hair as I continued to look at her. She didn’t meet my gaze as she began to rub baby’s back. I shrugged my shoulders, as if I wasn’t amazed by what had just happened.

“It’s alright. It’s was actually pretty cool. Did you teach him that?”

She continued to smile as she looked at me. She nodded her head yes. “Yeah I did actually,”

“Nice,” I smiled. I then set my gaze on baby. Her still held my blue hat in his teeth as he stared at me. I raised my brow as I stared at the dog.

She followed my gaze before muttering a small oh. She instructed baby to drop the hat. On command her released my hat from his grip. I managed to catch it before it hit the ground. I simply held it in my hands, not wanting to put it back on my head. the hat had just been in a dog’s mouth, I didn’t want to wear it anymore.

“So where are you from?” I questioned.

I wanted to get to know her almost instantly. At the time, it was a strictly physically attraction. She was a gorgeous girl, who seemed to be around my age. Not only that, but she had yet to react to me being Justin Bieber. So far, she seemed like a great girl to get to know.

“Um…well,” she began “I just moved here from Puerto Rico if that’s what you mean,”

I nodded my head before flipping my hair once more. “So you’re Puerto Rican…that’s pretty hot,” I flirted.

As I said before, she was gorgeous. Why wouldn’t I flirt with a gorgeous teenage girl.

Her smile seemed to grow wider as she shook her head. She bit her lip stifling a laugh as she stood there.

“Ignoring your flirting, I’m actually a bit more than Puerto Rican. I’m Dominican, Puerto Rican and Columbian on my mom’s side. On my dad’s side Italian,”

My eyes went slightly wide as I stared at her. She was abit of everything, the definition of an exotic beauty. I could understand her accent now, and her exotic looks. I couldn’t help but to smile at the thought.

“So miss exotic, is your name the same,”

She shook her head once more. “Still flirting I see, but no I don’t think so. It’s Neveah, Neveah Verdone,”

I smiled at the sound of her name. It was a name that I had never heard before. I had met many girls, many with unique names, but she was the only Neveah. Sure, the name may not have been as erotic as I would have hoped but it was different.

“Sounds pretty exotic to me,”

She shrugged as she looked down at baby. “I guess the last name is,” she muttered.

I opened my mouth to speak but was cut off by another female voice. I looked behind Neveah, only to have my jaw drop.

A girl that looked exactly like Neveah, was walking towards us. She was carrying a leash in her hands as she walked towards us. Her hair was in a side ponytail, different from her sister’s high one.

She was a twin. The beautiful exotic girl that I had just met was a twin. Making things even better they were identical twins. I was standing in the presence of two exotic beauties. At the time, I thought that I was one of the luckiest guys in the world.

Neveah’s twin opened her mouth once she reached her. She had yet to notice that I was standing there. She began to speak fluent Spanish to her sister.

“Neveah, ahí lo tienes, y que encontró al bebé,”

Neveah nodded her head at her sister, focusing her attention on her. “Sí, lo hice. Gracias a Justin aquí,”

I furrowed my brows at the sound of my name. I may not of known what she was saying but I knew that she had just said my name. That meant that she knew who I was. She knew who I was and remained calm, I rarely came across girls like this anymore. It wasn’t impossible but it was rare.

Her sister’s eyes then landed on me. Her eyes went wide as she continued to speak Spanish. “Justin Bieber! ¡Oh, Dios mío sus Justin Bieber!”

A light laugh escaped Neveah’s lips. “Sí lo es. Ahora cálmate no quiero que piense que estás loco,”

Her sister nodded as she looked at me once again. “I’m so sorry about that, you probably get that reaction every day, so sorry about that. Anyway I’m Heaven,” she giggled.

My smile grew wider as I stared at the both of them. They looked exactly alike. If it wasn’t for their different outfits I wouldn’t have been able to tell them apart.

“Hey,” I greeted.

She giggled once more as she nudged her sister. Neveah smiled as she stared at her sister. She shrugged her shoulders, understand her sister’s unspoken language.

“Well our parents probably want us to finish moving in so we’re sorry but we have to go,” Heaven spoke. “But hopefully we’ll see you around since we live about three doors down from here,”

“Four,” Neveah corrected.

Heaven then nodded her head. “Four,”

The both turned on their heels and started to walk in the opposite direction. I simply stood there smiling as I watched them walk away. Neveah suddenly looked over her shoulder and smiled at me.

“Adios Justin,” she replied.

I gave them a small wave before turning on my heel and walking away. I picked up my board as I started walking towards my house. I couldn’t help but to smirk at the thought of having to hot twins in my neighborhood.

If only I would have known that I was going to fall in love with both those twins. If only I knew that the only way to sort out my feels was to make a list of good and bad things that I liked about them both.

If I had known then I wouldn’t have smirked that day.

I sighed as I rolled over onto my back. I reached over to my nightstand, grabbing my purple spiral notebook.

Time to read over the list again.
