The Monster and the Fox Riders

Racing Josh

You wake up to Todd's phone ringing.

“Todd, your phone!”

“Urh, shut up,” he says.

You get his phone and answer it.

“Todd Potter's phone,” you say.

“Uh, hi. It's Josh Grant. Where's Todd?”

“Potter!” you yell at Todd. “It's Josh; take your phone!”

Todd grabs it off you. You sit up and rub your eyes, trying to figure out what to cook for breakfast. Todd quickly hangs up and lays back down on the floor with a thump.

“Todd, you want pancakes or yum yums?” you ask.

“Yum yum,” he replies.

“What's going on?” Bilko asks, just waking up.

You look at him, smiling at how cute he looks.

“What do you want for breakfast?” you ask Bilko, looking at the ground.

“You asked me first!” Todd protested.

“You still get your waffles, Todd,” you reply.

“Good,” he asserts proudly.

You laugh before turning back to Bilko.

“Muffins? Pancakes? I'm a good cook,” you offer.

“Waffles are good. I would hate to put a Sheila out of her way.”

“That's fine. Todd? I'm going to my house to get the waffle iron. Just be there in 30 minutes, I'll have coffee.”

“Urg,” he replies, before curling up again.

You laugh and stand up. Bilko looks at you, and you smile back.

“You wanna come over with him later, or with me now?” you ask.

He stands up, yawns, and starts walking to the door. You smile wider and follow him out. As you reach your house Jacko runs down and hugs you.

“Thank god you're fine!”

“I was at Todd's. Sorry to worry you baby boy.”

“No worries, Sheila. I was upstairs, went to see if you came in last night. Just freaked out when I saw you didn't.”

“I'll leave waffles out for you,” you comfort.

“Thanks,” he replies.

You go in the kitchen and get food out. You look and see Bilko standing around.

“You can sit down Bilko; nothing is too breakable. Need a coffee? Monster?”

“Both please.”

“You like them mixed too?” you ask.

“They're the best!”

“I know.”

You make coffee, smiling as you see Bilko with his head down on the table. You make the waffles and they're finished just as Todd walks in.

“Oh how cute!” Todd says.

“Don't wake him,” you warn.

“Someone likes an Aussie, someone likes an Aussie,” Todd chimes, dancing around the kitchen.

“Shut up,” you say, throwing a towel at him.

“You like him,” he points out.

“He's cute,” you reply.

“He helps you out last night, and you spike his coffee with Monster,” Todd says.

“True. What color?”

“Green.”

You get one out and sit in front of Bilko. You shake him awake.

“The food's done; here's the coffee and monster. How many you want?”

“I can get it Sheila, I'm fine.”

“Man you can't convince her to not do anything in the kitchen,” Todd says.

“It's because of you and Twitch! You guys made me get stitches and made me think it's better if you all sit down when breakable things are being moved.”

“We're not THAT bad,” Todd protests.

“Yeah, right.”

You get three plates and set them out on the table.

“Three waffles, Bilko”

“Yeah Sheila.”

You smile and give him three. You get your coffee and get Todd a cup, before sitting to eat. When everyone is done you go to wash up, until Todd looks at you with a smirk.

“What, jerkface?”

“Go get ready, we've got to get to the compound.”

You go upstairs to change before loading your bike up. Then you go to Todd's to help load his bike. You see Bilko playing around on his phone while Todd's on his talking to his girlfriend, Liz. Todd walks back into the room, staring at his phone.

“What happened?” you ask.

“We're done,” he replies.

“I'm sorry to hear that.”

“I'm fine,” he assures. “Let's go.”

“You sure?”

“I'm fine. She'll come around; let's go.”

You both go outside to watch Bilko loading his bike.

“Don't date guys that have the same sponsors, remember?” Todd says, standing behind you.

“Why do you bring that up now?”

“For real? You're trying to deny this? I can read you better than anyone.”

“I'm not denying anything.”

“You're denying liking him. It's easy to see.”

“The compound then?” you deflect.

Todd agrees, and you drive to the compound. Once you've finished changing, you go over to Todd.

“What?” he asks, still changing.

“Why are we here again?”

“You're racing Josh,” he replies.

“Oh right! I'm going to go to the course.”

“He's already here.”

“...so I can't go?”

“Come on!” he replies exasperatedly.

You ride up to the course and stop at the end of the track. Josh comes over and looks at Todd.

“Grant, Blair; Blair, Grant,” Todd says.

“Nice to meet you,” Josh says.

“Same here. So...five laps?”

“Fastest person wins, race rules.”

“Sounds good. Me and Bilko judge it,” Todd adds.

You both line up at the start, then take off as Todd starts the race. You get the lead and finish up in first place. You drive up to Todd at the end.

“So you win,” Todd says. “You did good.”

“That was nice, Blair,” Josh adds.

“Thanks. Want to go out again?”

“I think the outcome will be the same.”

“True, but it will be fun.”

“What time is it?” Todd asks.

“About eleven,” Bilko replies.

“We were late getting here,” you say.

“Go do the course,” Todd says. “I know you want to.”

You smile and take off on the course again.
