The unexpected outcry broke me out of my thoughts immediately and before I knew it, I saw Evolet running towards me, long hair flowing behind her. Subconsciously sighing of relief, I opened my arms and let her fall into them. I let them close around her body, squeezing my eyes shut as my arms squished her near. She wrapped her own arms around my back and we stood there in one another's embrace, both of us not wanting to be the first to let go.
