Hiding Things
I held Kyle's good hand as my mother signed the papers to discharge me from the hospital
"So where are we?" i asked
Kyle looked over and smiled at me
"Sweden" he said simply
I furrowed my brow and looked Kyle up and down
"Arent you suppose to be pale and your hair it's too dark" I said remembering geography in school
He laughed
"I was in California. And your thinking of Iceland or Greenland" he said
I laughed and he pulled me beside him out to the parking garage
"Kyle sit with me" i said pulling him to the backseat
He nodded and opened the door for me
"Ladies first" he said motioning his hand
I slid in and he got in next to me. I put my seatbelt on and waited for my mother to start the car
"Brad and your father are going to be so happy to see you" she said
I smiled and looked out the window. It was breathtaking here it was snowing lightly but every inch of it looked like a pure white blanket
"It's so beautiful here" I said softly
Kyle was holding my hand still rubbing his thumb across it softly
"It really is" my mother said softly
I kept my eyes glued to the window taking it all in. A few mintutes later houses came into view and they all seemed to go perfect with the snow
"I missed dad" I said looking away from the window
Kyle nodded
"He missed you more than you missed him" he said with a bit of anger behind his voice
I looked at my mothers eyes in the mirror she looked like she was about to cry
"Mom don't cry" I said softly
She let out a chuckle and wiped her face
"Im fine hunny just happy you're awake" she said softly
We pulled up to a big red brick house. I saw a black coat and blonde hair peaking from under the dark green hat
"Oh my goodness" I sqeaked
When my mother parked i got out and ran to my brother. He seemed shocked but picked me up and hugged me tightly
"Addy!" he said looking at my face
I smiled at him and nodded
This made him hug me tighter and kissed my head
"God I missed you terribly" he said as his voice cracked
I giggled and patted his back
"Missed you too big bro" I said in his chest
He pulled me back and looked all over my face
"Your never leaving my sight young lady" he said smiling
I giggled again and he dragged me into the house. Kyle and my mother had already gone in
"Daddy!" I shouted
I heard quick footsteps then he was standing in front of me
"Addison?" he said softly
I smiled and stepped closer to him
"Hi daddy" I said
His eyes welled up with tears and he hugged me tighter than Brad
"My baby is finally awake" he said crying into my hair
This was the first time in all my years i have seen and heard my father cry. Which made me think what happend to me in the first place
"I missed you dad" i said softly
He held me and cried for few moments before pulling away and looking at my face
"Your going to be a grandfather" I said looking in his eyes
He smiled and kissed my forehead. I wiped his face and looked in his eyes
"Im too young for that" he said
I laughed and hugged him again. I still had a feeling they were all hiding somthing from me
