Halfway There

Why is life always so cruel to me? Why does Karma and Fate and all of those other yahoos seem to hate me?

Kate and I had just had our first fight. I was thinking about what she had said. And she was right.

But nobody understood what I went through. My family … we all seemed perfect. When in reality we’re just a group of liars who end up dead, revealing to everyone who you truly are inside.

Well, I think angrily, not today. Not ever.

And with that thought, I had jumped into the water. My hopes of never coming back up were high, lifting my spirits, as I’m sure everyone was asleep.

With me out of the way, everyone will be much safer, I think, as I began feeling myself …
