"Revive Me With Just One Touch..."

Vic and Leila came home late last night,Leila bawling her eyes out.
Velair hadn't 'snapped out of it' like her doctors had hoped.

"Where's Jaime at?".

Vic and I were sitting in the living room,the tv was on but no one could really say that they were watching it.

Vic nodded towards the window.Jalen's car pulled into the driveway,her and Jaime stepping out casually.

Vic was at the door before they had a chance to ring the bell,"Come on in".

Jalen was the only one to look startled but she quickly recovered,"Uh thanks,where's Mike?".

I jumped up at hearing my name,"Here.What do you need?".

She smiled,"It's not what I need,it's what Velair wants".

I arched a brow,"Uh...?".

Jaime laughed and nudged my shoulder,"Dude,she wants you!".

I still wasn't getting it,"Isn't she..uh in a coma?".

Jalen shook her head,"She's just on meds,she's been mumbling 'Mike' all night".

That caught my attention,"Really?".

She picked up on my change of mood,"Calm down Rover,you just had some impact on the girl.So you coming or what?".

Vic and Jaime nudged me forward,"Go Mike".

And I was out the door behind Jalen,stepping into her car to see the one person I really wanted to see.

Tony

After the 'incident' yesterday we had all taken turns watching Velair.Well actually it was just Me,Jaime and Jalen.
Leila couldn't look at Velair without crying,she felt horrible.Vic had to take her home.

"Mike..".

My eyes focused on Velair's drug-enduced sleeping form.When it wasn't Jasper she was calling for, it was Mike.
It only took a day for Mike to jump into this beautiful girls heart and it only took a day for me to be pushed out.

"Tony?".

I looked back at Velair's face,expecting to see her awake and full of life.No such luck.

"Tony?",Jalen's voice came from behind me.

I dropped Velair's hand,which I had absentmindedly been playing with for the last couple of hours.
"Hey,my time up already?".

Her eyes met mine,they looked drowsy but also clouded with worry for me,"Yeah,you good to go?".

I offered a smile,"Sure".

Mike walked in behind Jalen,the confident smile completely vanishing from his person,"What'r you doing here?".

My shoulders tensed,"Someone had to stay and take care of her".

We both glanced back at the sleeping keeper of our hearts.

"Well feel free to leave,I hear I'm wanted here".

As if on cue,Velair spoke up."Mike..".

That was definitely inflating his ego,a little more than I would have liked.

I chewed on the inside of my cheek,"Have fun".

"Tony.."

I turned back to Jalen,"Yeah?".

Her eyes were wide as saucers,"T-That wasn't me".

Mike was glaring at nothing in particular and a smile slowly made it's way onto my face.

"I'll let you take your watch now".

I left that room feeling quite content with myself.All this meant was that if I wanted Velair I was definitely going to have to step it up.
