Peregrine
Its New Years to humans, and Peregrine Acquila waits at the Peak of Soul Mountain for the turning of the night. To the Shadow World, though, they aren’t celebrating the change of year.
They’re waiting to find their Souls.
When a human is Marked and turned into a member of the Shadow World, they lose their Souls. The new being is granted free life until Souls’ Night, (New Years for humans) then they have to find their Souls to live.
As you can see, a Shadow World being cannot live long without a Soul.
This is exactly why Peregrine Acquila is at Soul Mountain: for a chance at finding his Soul—although he only has a few hours.
The Souls are only freed from Soul Mountain on Souls’ Night, from the strike of Midnight until Dawn.
If Peregrine can find his Soul, he may live. If he fails, death’s arms are waiting . . . but so is Vindicta. Is sabotage in order?
This story is part of a sort of drabble, and is unconnected. You can read random ‘sequels’ of this and not be confused because there are no prior connections. I just put these together because they were a series of dreams and … yeah.
