Bad things happen to good people. This happened to Sara Lecher, Jonathan Toews' ex-girlfriend. When she stopped to let a deer cross the street, she got hit by a speeding car. The owner of the car was none other than Jonathan Toews, the man who cheated on her back in highschool.
