Akira Madden was raised conservatively; she attends a private Christian school, her parents are strict Christians, as well as strict parents. She's content with getting her As at school, going to piano lessons, listening to her soft music, and reading her books about God. That is, she was content, until she looked out her window.

Gerard Way, the resident "bad ass punk" in Akira's neighborhood, regularly goofed off with his friends in the street outside Akira's house. He continued with his "bad ass punk" life, unaware that he was being watched with a curious eye.

Akira longs for the freedom she sees in Gerard and his friends. So, she ventures out one afternoon to introduce herself to the resident "bad ass punk" in her neighborhood...
