She rushed to get her phone, she knew who it was and she really wanted to talk to him. It had been 2 weeks sense she’s talked to him and 4 months sense they left.

“Hey, Joe” she smiled into the phone.

“Hey, you” he said, she could tell he was smiling as well.

“What’s up?” she asked him.

“Just sitting around, thinking about you…”

She smiled bigger at his comment. “So, how are the kids?”

“Their fine, I’m watching them right now, Mar’s at the country club.”

“Are you guys still fighting all the time?” she asked.

“Yeah… sometimes, she’s cool, but you know…kinda crazy though.”

She laughed slightly. “So, how are you and…that dude?” he then asked.

“You mean Robbie?” she asked him.

“Yeah, that guy…” Joe trailed off.

“He’s fine, he’s running to the store right now, he promised we could spend the night together” she told him.

“What are you guys going to do?” he asked, with spite in his voice.

“You know, what people do alone…” Payton trailed off.

“You mean sex?” he burled out.

“Yeah…I guess, if it goes that far.”

“You mean to tell me you and this dude are…. Doing that?” he asked, shocked, on the inside kinda hurt, but he pushed that to the back of his mind.

“Yeah, Joe, I’ve been with him for 2 years now… that’s kinda what happens.”

“I can’t believe this” he stated.

“It’s not a big deal…” she trailed off.

“I…I…I need to go” he stated.

“Are you mad at me now?” she asked. What the f*ck is wrong with him? Does he think she’s not going to be with a guy that that ever again?

“No” he snapped harshly. “I just have things to do, I have a life.”

“Joe…” she trailed off, but it was to late, cause he had already hung up.

“What the hell?” she asked herself.
