Bane is a second-generation Maic. The Maics were a race of clones created in 2050. They rebelled, lost, and now their children are destined to a life of discrimination. The first-gen Maics are mostly in prison, leaving the children to fend for themselves. THey are denied jobs, education, homes, and healthcare. Legally, they have no rights, since they are not considered human.
Bane recently became leader of a tribe of second-gen Maics. Around the country, people just like her are protesting, telling society that they will not go unheard. When Bane decides to join them, there will either be great riumph or great disaster.
In addition, Bane recently won the heart of her longtime crush. But is he everything she could have hoped for? Or everything she feared?
