Parachute

I hugged my mother goodbye as Greg said goodbye to my dad, it had been an successful evening and I was pretty sure my parents loved Greg, Greg and I switched as I embraced my dad’s warm hug, I really did miss them and seeing them now made me want to make more time for them, when they left and I had just shut the front door, I got the unsafe feeling you get as a kid when you’re home alone late at night, I ran to Greg and hugged him tightly, he squeezed me into his chest and embraced me in his arms,

‘What’s wrong babe ?’ he asked quietly, I smiled as his voice made me feel better,

‘It just hit me how home sick I am’ I murmured into his chest, he kissed my head and pulled me back away from him,

‘I know how you feel, don’t worry, it’ll get better’ he explained, I sighed and hugged him once more, Greg chuckled and pulled me back again,

‘I also just realised how much I hate being alone’ I cried and made my way into the kitchen, Greg followed,

‘I’ll stay with you tonight, don’t worry, everything’s going to be ok’ he said calmly as I placed all the plates in the sink, I turned on my heel to face him and kissed his lips gently,

‘Leave that till tomorrow’ he exclaimed, I smiled and nodded, we headed into my room, Greg walked into the en suite as I searched through my wardrobe for some pyjama like clothing, I grabbed a pair of blue and white flannel shorts and a white string top, as I stripped from my now ruined dress, Greg exited the bathroom, he chuckled loudly as I stood there in my underwear,

‘What ?’ I snapped playfully, he shook his head,

‘I still can’t believe I got a girl like you’ he chuckled, I frowned and got dressed quickly,

‘I can’t believe I got you’ I admitted and motioned him to help me take all the little pillows off my bed. When we were done we snuggled into my bed and turned the TV on, Greg was watching it, I was just trying to drift off to sleep, I felt so safe and laughed when Taffy came in and jumped on the bed, I was so happy at that the moment, I turned reluctantly to Greg who’s attention was completely on the TV and kissed his lips quickly,

‘What ?’ Greg asked coyly, I shook my head and smiled,

‘You just make me so happy’ I exclaimed and turned back around, Greg switched the lap off placed his arm around my waist,

‘You have no idea how happy you make me’ he said quietly, I grinned widely and placed my hand on his arm,

‘Sleep’ I groaned, Greg laughed and turned the TV off,

‘Fine’ he moaned and laughed, I was just drifting off when my phone buzzed, I frowned and heard Greg groan, I leaned over and lifted my phone off the bed side table, one new message from Warrick, I raised and eyebrow and read the message,

‘Hey hope everything went ok today’ it read, I smiled and placed my phone back on the table, deciding to reply tomorrow,

‘Who was it ?’ Greg yawned, I yawned to and snuggled into Greg,

‘No one’ I mumbled and placed my arm around his waist, he did the same to me and giggled,

‘Night babe’ he whispered, I grinned and closed my eyes,

‘Night’ I said finally and drifted off to sleep.
