People Change and Promises Are Broken

Rachel sat up from her bed as she heard a knock on the door. Kevin entered the room.

"Rachie?" he asked her, sitting on the bed next to her, "Are you okay?"

"I'm okay," she replied, smiling up at him.

"Nick doesn't understand what's happening," Kevin said.

"I guessed," Rachel mumbled.

"He'll come around," Kevin stated.

Rachel shook her head.

"He will," Kevin insisted.

"Well at least Joe and Ellie are glad to see each other," Rachel said, wiping her wet face.

"Yes," Kevin laughed, "He's like the cat that got the cream."

"Do you wanna come downstairs?" Kevin asked Rachel, holding out his hand, and leading her downstairs.

"Don't tell my mother though."

"I won't," Kevin promised.

"I see you have a group of fans," Rachel said.

"Oh you mean the girls you were with?"

"Miley and Lilly," Rachel began, "Love you guys."

Suddenly, Kevin's phone rang and he answered it.

He hung up and told Rachel that they had to go.

"Alright," she said hugging him, "See you around."

When Kevin and Joe arrived at the Jonas household, they looked for Nick.

He was in his room, playing on his guitar.

"Nicholas!" Kevin said angrily.

Nick looked up, his eyes red. "What?"

"How could you do that to Rachel? She saved your life," Joe shouted.

"She left me alone," Nick mumbled, putting his guitar aside.

"She went to get help," Kevin said.

"Then why didn't she see me when I was in hospital?"

"She was at the police station, filling out a statement," Joe explained.

"What?" Nick gasped.

"And now her father has left and she doesn't talk to her brother,"

Nick ran his hand through his hair.

"What have I done?" he said, a tear sliding down his face.

Kevin and Joe left the room, sensing Nick wanted to be alone.

Nick picked up his guitar and started a song, a song just for her...
