Life of a Teenage Haner

Layla’s POV

I giggled as I watched Jackie and Gemma take on Daniel in an effort to get the football.

We were all gathered in the Sander’s back garden as we were bored and decided to just come and hang here which turned into a football game with the Sanders children against Jackie, Gemma and I. It was actually going kind of well though now I was left with the twins who were grinning at me wickedly

“now Layla, you can try and help them or we can do this the easy way” Alex said, Lianna carried on

“you can give us the ball when they pass it or you can surrender now” I laughed and shook my head as I kept one eye on them and the other on Gemma who was prying Daniel’s fingers apart as he cried out about cheating

“I think I need a minute to think” I said and they smiled as I stood there pretending to think.

When I saw that Gemma had the ball free I shrugged at them and grinned

“I think I’ll go score instead” I then ran past them as they went to grab for me and caught the ball Gemma tossed before throwing myself at the t-shirt we had declared as the line.

I hit the dirt with the ball in hand before quickly getting to my feet and clapping

“we won!” I exclaimed and Gemma and Jackie squealed getting off a groaning Daniel before running over to me and hugging me.

I heard a slap as Lianna shouted at Daniel

“idiot! You lost us a game, how hard is it against two little girls?” she berated him and we laughed before Gemma pulled away and wrinkled her nose

“Layla you’re kind of covered in dirt” I looked down at myself and saw that I was indeed covered in a layer of dirt. I groaned

“I like this outfit!” I then looked over and called to Alex

“hey Alex you mind if I go steal some clothes?” she looked up from where she was, sat on Daniel’s legs, and smiled, nodding

“yeah sure, you know where they are” I nodded before leaving them there and heading into the house where I found Aunt Val and Uncle Matt cuddled up on the settee.

Uncle Matt laughed when he saw me

“what happened to you?” I shrugged

“I got covered in dirt when I got a touchdown” he chuckled again while Aunt Val waved me towards the stairs

“go change quickly” I nodded and hurried up the stairs towards the twins room.

They shared a room but it was the biggest room in the house so they had plenty of room so they didn’t keep bumping into each other.

Walking over to Alex’s side of the room I pulled open the wardrobe doors and pulled out a hoodie before walking over to her chest of drawers and pulling out a t-shirt and jeans. I kept my shoes (http://www.polyvore.com/evelyn_50/set?id=21197230) before I walked downstairs and into the kitchen where I found a plastic bag and put my dirty clothes inside.

Walking outside I found Daniel on the phone to someone while Lianna, Alex, Gemma and Jackie were sat on the grass talking together.

I walked over to them and sat down smiling at them all

“so what’s going on?” I asked and Jackie answered

“we were thinking of something to do”

“yeah I suggested putting mouldy cheese in Daniel’s room but Lianna won’t go for it” Alex said and Lianna grimaced

“we are in the room next to him, when that shit starts to smell it will get in our room too so no way” Alex pouted but after thinking it over she agreed.

Looking around I shrugged

“I can’t think of anything” Jackie looked at me curiously

“who’s that guy that keeps bugging you at school?” I groaned at the question

“god you had to ask about him” they all suddenly perked up

“why what’s the matter with him?” Gemma asked and I shrugged

“I don’t know I mean he was a complete and utter ass when I first met him and it continued until I told him to leave me alone so for like the last week he didn’t speak to me then the other day he apologised and now we’re supposed to be friends” I frowned and Alex patted my knee

“that kind of sucks but like I’ve said before, he’s hot” I chuckled

“being hot does not make up for being an ass” Alex shrugged

“sometimes it can, I mean even if Brad Pitt was an ass, would you turn him down?” I bit my lip

“not at first but then if he acted like it on a date I would throw my drink in his face then storm off” we all laughed before Lianna asked

“well why not give him the chance then if he messes up again, throw a brick at him or something, he can’t be all bad” I shrugged

“I’ll let him have a chance but I seriously think there is something about him that’s just weird” they nodded and we quickly moved onto the topic of the latest films in the cinema.

I waved at the group before I headed out the back gate and towards home.

Walking in the front door I called out

“anyone home!?” hearing nothing I walked into the kitchen and saw a sticky note on the microwave

hey Layla
gone shopping, made a cake, help yourself
Mom

I smiled and threw the note in the bin before opening the microwave to see a chocolate cake. Taking it out I cut myself a piece before putting the rest in the microwave again then grabbing a fork I took my slice of cake into the sitting room and turned on the TV, watching Disney Channel as I ate before helping Mom when she came in with the groceries then going back to watching TV.
