The Dorkiest Vampire

Riley Marionneaux's family has lived in the small town of Merridick, Louisiana for generations, one of the oldest and best established Creole/Arcadian families still living in the area. Her family's 18th Century Plantation, Weeping Waters, is known for a ghost story about one of her ancestors who was murdered, looking for the mysterious woman who died along the creek.

Michael Vespasien and his family have a dark secret they've been struggling to hide. The fact that Mick obviously doesn't fit in anywhere has led to trouble, causing the family to move constantly. When they come to Merridick, Mick is entranced by the strange girl who has befriended him at school. His parents seem more keen on her becoming his friend than they ever have before. Mick soon realizes his parents haven't always told him the truth and that they are hiding an even darker, deeper secret from him out of the past, something which has intertwined the fate of the Vespasiens with the Marrioneauxs in the town of Merridick since one terrible night long ago.
