Blinking Into Uncertainty

Why is life so fragile?
Why do the good die young?
Tell me.
Tell me why.
But you can’t.
You can’t because no one ever has a fucking clue.
We make up reasons to make it so we sleep at night without even thinking about it.
Not once.
Not ever.
You sleep while they die and you don’t think about it.
Because you couldn’t care less.
But what happens when you stop believing?
What happens when you stop believing in the reasons?
What happens when the best person in the world goes out like a light and it’s your fault? And the regret lays so heavily in your throat you can barely let a breath slip by?
Tell me.
Tell me what fucking happens then.
But you can’t, can you?
No, no you can’t.
You’ll spout off some crap answer from a TV show you once watched when you had nothing better to do.
Because you don’t know.
You can’t know.
Because you don’t know me.
And you probably never will.

Rated PG-13 for brief coarse language and some drug use.
