To The Ocean

1/1

Warm summer waves crashed against solid rock. Pelicans swooped down to bring their families a meal. That’s if they catch anything. Schools of fish swam by broken bottles, and washed away debris from the party at the beach the night before.

I stood at the rocks, observing the life of the silent waters. I wondered absently to myself what it must be like. How it would feel to spend days, weeks, even years floating meaninglessly through life. Letting the ocean wash away all the problems left on land. What would happen if,

I decided, I would take to the ocean.
