Bonita’s POV

Things That Couples Should Do Once... a month

Spoil Him

“Thank you. Bye.” I said to the man behind the counter.
I exited from GAME, a huge bag under one arm.
In the other arm, there was a large rectangular box.
I walked through the crowd, trying not to smack anyone with my enormous box.
“Sorry.” I repeated several times.
Then I finally reached the car park.
Scanning the mass of vehicles, my eyes finally found mine.
I dragged myself over and carefully placed the packages in the boot before getting in and driving home.
When I got home, I unpacked it all and was just setting everything up when Nando waltzed in.
“Hey, you’re back!” he smiled, sitting beside me and giving me a kiss.
“Yup, and I bring glad tidings and it’s not even Christmas!”
“What’s the glad- wait, is that-?”
“Yup.” I answered, holding up the game case.
“You honestly bought it? For me?” he asked in disbelief, taking the case from me and looking at the back.
“No, for Pomo and Llanta.” I said sarcastically.
“Very funny.”
I stuck my tongue out at him and he laughed.
“Thank you Bonita.” He said, hugging me.
“You’re welcome.”
He eagerly got up and started the game.
Some might find it random, but I knew it would be perfect for him.
He loved The Beatles, so when I saw this I thought it would be perfect.
The Beatles Rockband video game on Nintendo Wii.
I burst out laughing as he began singing along to Yellow Submarine as he played it.
“Thank you Bonita!”

Do Something Scary

I gripped Nando’s arm tightly.
“Nando, I’m not sure I like this!” I screeched.
“Don’t laugh at me!” I wailed, as he laughed.
“But it was your idea!” he reminded me.
“I know, I know but now I’m not so sure!”
“Want to go back down?” he asked, pulling me closer to him.
I nodded in response.
“You don’t mind?” I asked, turning towards him.
He gave me a hug.
“Of course not Bonita.”
We eventually reached the ground and I was the first out.
“Blimey my heart is racing!” I breathed, my heart pounding against my rib cage.
Hot air balloons?
I don’t think so!

Talk About Money

“Man, I love this place.” he sighed, rubbing his now full stomach.
“I know, and my grandmother says that if you rub your stomach after eating you’ll get a big stomach.” I warned.
His hand dropped down to his side immediately.
I burst out laughing and he scowled.
“Just kidding! Aw, don’t be so cross Nando.”
“Humph.” He pouted, and then called the waiter over.
He reached into his pocket and drew out his wallet but I beat him to it.
“It’s on me.” I said firmly, as the waiter took away the bill and money.
“Bonita-“
“It’s on me.” I repeated.
“You didn’t have to.” He said, helping me out my chair.
“No, I didn’t have to. I wanted to.”
“You’re very sweet Bonita.” He smiled, giving me a peck on the cheek.

Brag Publicly About Him

“Aw, Nando’s so brave! There was this huge spider in the bathtub this morning! And he got rid of it!” I cooed to my best friend.
“Aw, that’s so brave!” she agreed, as Nando blushed.

Say Something ‘Stays In Vegas’

“Oh my God that was so embarrassing!” I blushed, burying my face in a cushion.
“Really? I thought it was quite sexy actually.”
I threw the cushion at him but he just laughed.
“You’re not going to tell anyone are you?” I pleaded.
“No, definitely not.” He promised.
Phew!

Be The Man

“Come on, get up! You’ve been watching football all day!” I moaned, switching the TV off.
“There’s nothing else to do though.” He replied, switching it back on.
“Yes, there is. Come on, up! We’re going out.”
“Where?” he asked, as I led him upstairs.
“Out, to anywhere. I don’t know, but for once it’s not you setting up a date- it’s me.”

Disappear Together

“Bonita! Bonita!”
I turned at the sound of my boss’ voice.
“Hello sir, sorry I didn’t hear you.”
“That’s alright, that running can count as my exercise for the day.” He joked.
I smiled
“Is there something you want sir?” I asked.
“Yes, actually. I was wondering where you were yesterday. We needed an extra hand because someone went off sick. We tried to reach you but there was no answer.”
I was with my boyfriend in the woods- the one place O2 can’t reach us!

“Roy had a go at me this morning.” Said Nando, as we cuddled on the sofa.
“Why?”
“Because of yesterday’s mysterious disappearance. He says he tried to call, and even got Pepe to knock on the door but there was no answer.”
“Does Pepe know where we were?”
“Yes, I told him O2 couldn’t find us.”

Go To A Party And Mingle Separately

“So, boyfriend not with you?” another hopeful asked.
I had been asked that question a million times already.
“No, he’s not.”
