Spinning

2/2

Five years later.

"Happy birthday sweetheart," I called to my precious little Hayden.
She looked up at me with groggy eyes. "Breakfast is on the table."

Hayden pushed herself out if her little bed and dragged her feet out
the door. On the kitchen table sat homemade waffles, a jar of nutella,
and two glasses if orange juice. The living room in our little two
bedroom apartment was filled with presents. I smiled as I watched my
daughter run to the living room wide eyes.

The day Jacob walked out on us I thought I couldn't make it. I had
decided I was going to put her up for adoption. There was no way I
could do this alone. Nine months later I was holding a beautiful
daughter in my arms and there was no way I was giving her up. Today I
couldn't be happier I made that decision.

I watched Hayden spin around in the new pink dress I bought her. Her
arms were flailing and her sandy blonde hair was flying around her. I
got up and spun right alongside her, but for the first time in my
life it wasn't because I was hoping to be transported to some other
place. I was perfectly happy right where I was.
