Chapter 10

When Giselle woke up the next morning she was still in her t-shirt and Vic’s hoodie but now she had on a pair of basketball shorts and was curled up in a bunk. She felt movement and she sat up on her elbow looking around the dark space. She saw light coming from the corner and immediately pulled the curtain open. Giselle realized how bad of an idea that was when her head began pounding from the bright light that hit her eyes. She threw her hand in front of her eyes and slowly slid out of the bunk. She stumbled forward as the RV hit a bump in the road. The sound of her running into the bathroom door alerted someone because she heard fast paced footsteps walk towards the her. The door opened and she looked up to see Jaime looking down at her worriedly.

“You okay Giselle?” he asked as he helped her steady herself.

“Yeah. I just lost my footing.” She said in a sleepy voice.

“Okay. You want some tea? I just made some.”

“Yeah. Just let me go to the bathroom first.” She said as she disappeared behind the door. She quickly relieved herself as well as brushing her teeth and washing her face before leaving the bathroom. As she walked out she noticed Mike standing by his bunk.

“And sleeping Beauty awakes.” He said smirking

Giselle stared at him blankly as he laughed.

“Do you know you sleep like a rock?” he stated. “Vic tried carrying you to the bus but you’re like dead weight.”

“So let me guess, you had to play Hulk and carry me yourself?” Giselle said raising her eyebrow and crossing her arms across her chest.

Mike flexed his thin arms and grinned. “You said it, not me.”

Giselle laughed out loud, shaking her head at the boy in front of her.

“”You know Vic is obsessed with you right?” he said

“What? No he isn’t.” Giselle said running her fingers through her hair.

“Yeah he just takes care of, protects and comforts every girl he meets. He sleeps with them too. You’re not special.” Mike said sarcastically.

“I think you’re making too much out of this.” She said looking at him.

“So you don’t remember kissing him last night?”

Giselle blushed when those words left his mouth. She did remember kissing Vic. She wouldn’t have ever thought of kissing Vic last night if she hadn’t drank so much. But with Vic being so great to her and such a nice guy along with her being drunk she didn’t have the will power not to kiss him. She didn’t regret it though. She just wished it hadn’t been a drunken kiss.

“Just because I kissed him doesn’t mean he likes me. Vic is just being nice to me, just like you, Jaime and Tony.” She said looking down

“Yeah well as much as I would’ve loved for you to kiss me, you didn’t. You kissed my short girly looking brother.” Mike said

Giselle punched him lightly in the arm as she laughed.

“That’s mean.”

“Mean but true.” He said shrugging.

“Well I think you need to find you a girl Mike. I don’t usually say that but it seems like you may have some pent up sexual frustration.” Giselle said with a smirk.

“Yeah well my brother does too so get with it Gizmo.” Mike said smirking, walking by her and smacking her on the butt before leaving the room.

“Fuck Mike! You bitch.” She said loudly as she heard him laugh in the other room. She followed him out and walked into the room rubbing her sore behind. When Jaime noticed her he started laughing.

“Mike has big hands doesn’t he Gizmo?” he said laughing more when Giselle glared at him.

“Not funny.” She said walking over to the table where the two girls she slightly remembered meeting last night were.

“Mike is a bitch. You should’ve hit him.”

Giselle looked at the blonde one she remembered as Stephanie.

“He caught me off guard.” Giselle mumbled. “Stephanie right?”

The blonde nodded as Jaime walked over handing Giselle a cup of tea.

“Anna babe did you call the venue?” he asked

“Yeah, the show is still on.” The brunette said.

“Wait I thought your name was Jessica?” Giselle asked confused.

“It is. Anna is my middle name though. That’s what everyone calls me. You can call me either. It doesn’t matter.” She said with a smile.

“Oh okay.” Giselle said looking around the lounge area. “Where is Vic?”

“He’s riding with the Chiodos dudes. He’s going to sing some songs with them at the show so Brandon is helping him with the lyrics.” Jaime said

“Okay babe this is the time where me and Steph steal Giselle.” Anna said standing up from the small table.

“To the back lounge!” Stephanie said loudly making the other three laugh. Giselle grabbed her phone from her bag before following the other two girl to the back lounge. She closed the door behind her and sat down on the couch near Anna as Stephanie looked through DVDs.

“So Tony and Jaime told us about your situation. I hope you aren’t mad.” Anna said cautiously

“Of course not. You both deserved an explanation as to why your boyfriends and friends picked up some random girl and invited her on tour with them.” Giselle said looking at Anna.

“I can’t imagine going through what you did. You are so strong.” Stephanie said sitting on the other side of Giselle. “I’d be so paranoid and scared. I wouldn’t leave this RV.”

Giselle chuckled lightly before looking at the blonde girl beside her. “I was scared too, at first. But the guys have made me feel really safe. You two are lucky to know them.”

“We’re lucky when they act normal. The other seventy five percent of the time they are a burden.” Anna said making Stephanie and Giselle laugh.

“Anyway enough about that. Tell us about you!”

For the next two hours Giselle sat with the two girls and they talked music to movies to fashion. Conversation came so easy between the three girls. They found themselves talking about Harry Potter when Mike barged into the room.

“How dare you all talk about Harry Potter without me?” He said with a shocked face.

“Mike no one cares about what you have to say. We didn’t want you here which is why we didn’t tell you.” Stephanie said with a smirk.

Mike glared at her and rolled his eyes.

“I didn’t want to talk about it with you three anyway. I only came back here to tell you that we’re about to stop and eat. So get ready.” He said before sulking out of the room.

“Mike is crazy.” Giselle said laughing

“That he is.” Anna said standing up. Giselle went to Vic’s bunk and pulled out her bag. She changed into a black pair of skinny jeans and a white t-shirt before slipping into a black pair of vans. She brushed her hair and put on Vic’s hoodie before joining everyone in the front lounge.

“Where are we?” Giselle asked leaning against the sink.

“Santa Fe, New Mexico.” Tony said

“And we’re getting Mexican food!” Jaime said excitedly. “Let’s go.”

Everyone left the bus and began walking towards the Mexican restaurant across the street. They walked inside and immediately spotted Chiodos and Vic at a table.

“I’m going to go order.” Giselle said to the group as she walked over to the line.
She was standing there looking up at the menu when she felt someone walk up behind her. She looked over her left shoulder and saw Vic’s smiling face looking down at her. She couldn’t help but smile herself.

“Hey.”

“Hey yourself.” He said as he threw his arm over her shoulder. Giselle wrapped her arms around his waist and tucked her face into his neck.

“Are you feeling okay?” he said into her ear.

“Yeah. I feel fine.” She said looking up at him.

The two stared at each other before Giselle looked away. “So how is the song going with Brandon?”

“It’s good. I’m excited to sing with them tonight. It’s going to be a lot of fun.” Vic said with a smile leading Giselle to the counter. They both ordered and Vic paid much to Giselle’s dismay.

“I could’ve paid for my food Vic. It was only six dollars.” She said waiting for their tray of food.

“Exactly. It was only six dollars so it shouldn’t be a big deal. So stop arguing with me about it.” Vic said with a smirk.

Giselle rolled her eyes at the boy and looked towards the guy making the food. He brought it over to them and handed them the tray. Vic laced his fingers with Giselle’s and lead her to the table. She tried hard to stop the blush from showing in her cheeks but failed. When they approached the table she saw Mike smirk.

“Look at what we have here. Someone’s blushing again. I wonder why?” Mike said as Anna slapped his arm.

“Leave them alone Mike. You talk to much.” She said standing up.

“I mean he isn’t lying. She is blushing.” Brandon said from the other side of the table.

“Shut it Brandon.” Giselle said sitting next to him. Vic sat down next to her and handed her the food.

“Why are you getting so defensive Gigi?” Brandon said smirking.

Giselle glared at him, which made him laugh.

“Just because you lost the bet last night doesn’t mean you have to take it out on me. Don’t be a sore loser Brandon.” Giselle said making the table laugh.

“Whatever.” He mumbled biting into his burrito.

The group sat at the table eating and talking excitedly about the show that night. Giselle couldn’t help but smile at how happy the guys were to play music. Her thoughts were interrupted when her cell phone rung. She stood and walked away from the table and out of the restaurant before answering.

“Hello?”

”Hey sweetheart.”

“Hey dad. How are you?” Giselle asked leaning against the brick wall.

”I’m fine. The question is how are you? Dave called us and said you weren’t in Nevada anymore. Are things okay with you two?” her dad asked

“Oh…” Grace said trying to think of something to say. “I got the opportunity to go on tour with this band and write reviews for each of their shows.”

”Well that sounds like fun. Are you coming anywhere near home?”

“Yes, we’re coming to New Orleans in a week or so. I’ll probably leave the tour then.” She said

”Oh no, you should stay with that band you’re with. That sounds like a lot of fun. You should stay with them. Are they nice?” her father asked

“Yeah they’re really nice dad.”

”Well I’m happy for you cherie. I hope the rest of the tour is fun. Let me know when you’re in New Orleans and we all will come see you.”

“I will dad.” She said with a smile.

“Okay. I love you sweetie.” her dad said

“I love you too. Tell mom, Juliet and Elizabetha that I love them too.”

”I will. Talk to you soon.”

Giselle hung up with her dad and let out a deep breath. She was scared that Dave had told them everything. She didn’t want her family to know. Giselle wants to handle this situation all on her own. She looked to her right when she heard footsteps. Vic walked up to her and smiled.

“Everything okay?” he asked.

“Yeah. It was my dad.”

“Is he okay?” Vic said concerned

“Yeah. Dave called him and told him I wasn’t in Nevada anymore so my dad got worried. He called to see where I was and what I was doing. Everything is cool now.” Giselle with a smile.

“Well we are about to head to the venue now. I packed up the rest of your food and Anna took it back to the RV.” He said

“Thanks Vic. I really don’t know what I’m going to do to thank you guys after all of this is over. You’ve all helped and done so much for me. You don’t know how much I appreciate it.” Giselle said seriously

“I do know, and you’re welcome.” Vic said pulling Giselle into a hug. She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist and stood on her toes to kiss him lightly on the cheek. She looked up at him and saw him his brown eyes looking into hers.

“Giselle…last night…” Vic started.

Giselle knew what he was about to say and she immediately spoke up.

“I know. I kissed you. Vic I don’t usually do that.” She said noticing his face fall.

“Its okay if you want to forget it.” He said quietly.

“No!” she said making him look at her. “No, I don’t want to forget about it. I wanted to kiss you Vic. That’s why I did it. I just wanted you to know that I’m not usually like that, you know, in case I made you uncomfortable.”

Vic laughed out loud before speaking. “You didn’t make me uncomfortable G.”

“Okay.” She said chuckling.

Giselle turned to walk away when Vic lightly grabbed her wrist. She turned back around to face him and he pulled her close to him before quickly kissing her.

“I did that because I wanted to.”

Giselle laughed before jumping in Vic’s arms when she heard someone yell.

“I called it!!” Mike said from the end of the sidewalk. “I told you guys he was going to kiss her. Pay up!”

Giselle and Vic laughed as they watched Tony, Jaime, Brandon, Stephanie and Anna pull out money and hand it to Mike.

“They call me whiskeyhands for a reason. Its ‘cause I’m smooooth.” Mike said counting his money.

“No one calls you whiskey hands…and if they do they’re stupid just like you.” Stephanie said before running away as Mike chased after her.

Giselle turned back to Vic smiling.

“You’re friends are crazy.” She said.

Vic laced his fingers with Giselle’s again and began pulling her to his friends.

“They’re your friends too now.”
