Locating the Love She Never Had
Morning
Matnson dropped her stuff noisily. No other BAU members, other then Reid and maybe Hotch, were there. Reid came up to her, grabbed her waist, and gave her a kiss.
"Good Morning Beautiful," he said.
"Morning," she replied.
"How have you been?"
"Good. So I have a question for you."
"What is it?"
"My sister's 14th birthday party is this weekend."
"The one from the airport?"
"Yeah. It's in Milwaukee and I want you to come with."
"Me? Come with?"
"That's what I said. KT told me to bring my boyfriend."
"All right."
"Awesome."
"How much for the plane tickets?"
"My mom said she'd pay for both of them."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, Spencer. It's fine."
They shared one last kiss before the elevator dinged and Prentiss came out. There was a sharp distinct click of heels. Prentiss didn't wear heels. In fact, Prentiss wasn't even walking any more. The click was of large heels. A larger woman, most likely.
"Hi," Garcia said.
"Oh. Hi Garcia," Matnson said. "Come in kinda early?"
"Yeah. I some things I wanted to do on my computer. Been her a few hours. You're kinda early too."
"My mom pull KT out of school this week and I dropped her off in DC. Figured I'd come in instead of go home and come right back.
"You dropped a teenager off in DC? Alone?"
"No. She's with Callie Zander. She lives in the apartment across the hall."
"So you dropped two teenager off in DC?"
"Yes."
Garcia walked to her unknown destination.
"When does the flight leave?" Reid asked.
"Friday, if we're back in time, the plane leaves at nine."
"What if we're not."
"Then we have a six AM flight on Saturday. KT has to get on the Friday flight regardless."
"Understandable."
"You think Garcia saw?"
"Saw what?"
"Us. She said she'd been here for a few hours."
"Working on her computer. It'll be fine."
He would have given her another gentle kiss, but Prentiss was there. Instead they just went to their separate desks. Matnson's cell rang.
"Hey KT," she said.
"Hi Leash. What's up?"
"You called me. What do you want?"
"So Callie's staying with her brother..."
"And?"
"And she lives two houses down from us."
"She's in the apartment across the hall."
"No, in Milwaukee. You think Mom would let her come to my party?"
"I don't know."
"She has the same flight as us. Her bother and his girlfriend are on the flight too. They're about your age."
"You can ask Mom."
"You think she will?"
"It's worth a try."
"All right. Thanks Leash. Love you. Bye."
"Bye."
The line was already dead though. She shook her head a put down her cell.
"Hey Leash," JJ said.
"Hey JJ."
"You takin' this weekend off?"
"Me and Reid both."
"Hello Agent Jareau," a man said.
"Hi Agent Zander."
He stopped and came near JJ and Matnson.
"Agent Matnson, this is Agent Zander. Agent Zander, this is Agent Matnson."
"Felica," she said offering her hand.
""Jeremy," he replied, shaking her hand.
"Jeremy Zander?"
"Yes."
"Do you have two younger sisters?"
"Yes Callie and Rebecca."
"My sister, Krystal, and Callie are in DC together."
"Oh. Your from Milwaukee?"
"Yes. Are you from Milwaukee?"
"No, actually I'm from here."
"Are you going to Milwaukee this weekend."
"Yes. I gotta run. Bye."
"Bye."
"Bye," JJ called out.
"JJ make sure we're back on Friday."
