Locating the Love She Never Had
It was, eh, Interesting
"How was that for your first case?" Morgan asked smiling.
"It was, eh, interesting," Matnson responded.
"It'll be OK."
"Does it get any easier?"
"Not really."
She raised her book back to her face.
"You know Reid could finish that in under 10 minutes."
She pulled the book down.
"You just don't shut up, do you?"
"Sorry, Gorgeous, just not my thing."
She pushed the bookmark into the book and tossed it to Reid. He looked at her surprised.
"Morgan said you can finish this in less then 10 minutes."
Reid nodded. His face was full of confusion. She looked at him, expecting him to know she wanted him to read it. It was quiet a moment longer.
"I want to time you reading it," Matnson demanded.
Reid nodded. He flipped to the front page and looked up at Matnson. She pulled out her phone and found the stopwatch app. She looked up. They met each others gaze for just a few seconds.
"Ready?" Matnson asked.
Reid nodded.
"Go," she instructed.
She watched as his eyes flew back and forth at lightning speed and pages flew past. She met Morgan's gaze. She had forgotten he had standing there. She put her phone down on the table.
"I told you so," he teased.
"He's not done yet."
Morgan took a seat across from her, blocking her view of Reid.
"Come on, Gorgeous. You can't honestly believe he won't finish it?"
"I believe he can finish it. In less then 10 minutes? Not so sure."
"Gorgeous, I don't think you know what you're talkin' 'bout."
"Could you stop saying that?"
"What? That he can read that in less then ten minutes?"
"No. Gorgeous."
"Sorry. I didn't realize you were so touchy."
"I don't appreciate you flirting with me. Especially with such strict rules against BAU members dating."
"Flirting and dating are two different things. Especially if it's just a nickname."
"Done," Reid chimed
Matnson stopped the watch. Six minutes, give or take.
"Amazing," was all she said.
"It was, eh, interesting," Matnson responded.
"It'll be OK."
