All is Fair in Love and Hate: A Hundred Letters

Dear friend

Dear friend,

I’m starting to hate you. Freshman year, I called you my best friend, and meant it. Sophomore year, I called you my best friend, and sometimes meant it. Now, I call you my best friend just because I have to. I start to dread going to lunch, and I’m contemplating on not spending lunch at our spot anymore. I avoid hanging out with you. Is this what friends are supposed to do? No. I don’t want to hang out with you anymore. We’ve both changed over the two summers, and with these changes, we’re no longer as compatible as we were two years ago. You’re going down the ‘girly-preppy’ path. I’m going down the ‘emo’ depressing (stupid fucking stereotype btw…) path. We don’t go well together anymore. We don’t share anything in common anymore. I only call you my friend because of our mutual friends who I like more than you. But I don’t like you anymore.
