Chapter Five
"Simon died?" My one and only friend, Abbey, asks.
I nod, pressing my hand to my aching head. Tears threaten to fall, but they don't.
Abbey puts her hand on my arm out of pity.
"I'm so sorry." She whispers. I nod my head.
Aren't we all?
I pull open my locker, shoving my backpack into it.
"Did you hear about the new kid?" Abbey asks. I shake my head.
"No, who is he?" I ask. Shutting my locker door. We make our way to James' locker. We walk slowly, savoring the time we have left. Dreading our destination. Abbey knows about James. She knows a lot.
"His name is Eli. Eli Wood. He's in my gym class. Very good looking, I must admit." She informs me. I nod, knowing James will never let me near this Eli.
