Candy, friendship, not so secretive

Justin’s P.O.V
“What an adventurous morning this has been” I said after we ordered.
“you got that right. First you knock me down in the hall, then I almost drowned, thank you for saving me by the way, and now here we are.” She replied slightly laughing
“Okay I did not knock you down you simply tripped and knocked me down!” I stated
“What did I so happen to trip on?” she said cocking her head to the side
“um your feet?” I questioned
“Nope I think you were just stuck in the moment and wasn’t paying attention to where you were going” she said blushing afterwards
“Oh so we’re using titles of my songs in a sentence now are we?” I asked
“Oh don’t be so cocky.” She said laughing
By that time our food had arrived and we both got right to eating. I couldn’t remember the last time I had a full conversation with a girl, besides my mom. I felt like I was a teen again. Just being able to talk to her was what I really needed but I couldn’t get this little thought out of my mind. it seemed like she was hiding something but was afraid to tell me.
“You know were friends right?” I asked
“Yeah I know?” she questioned
“even though we met a few hours ago I felt like I’ve known you for a few years” I stated
“you not proposing to me are you?” she joked
“What? No way!” I faked freaked
“Then what’s up?” Jessica asked
“If there’s something you want to talk about I’ll always be there for you no matter how far apart we are.” I said as I looked at her.
I didn’t know what her reaction would be as I watched her face. Wait did I just see fear on her face? It vanished so fast that I don’t know what it was.
“There’s nothing wrong” she laughed “I’m just enjoying breakfast with a new friend that’s all” she finished
“I still stand by my words” I said before finishing up my breakfast.
“I’m sure you will.”
After she paid the bill we left and figured we would just walk around and see what shops we could find.
“Don’t forget that I still owe you candy” I reminded her
“Really Justin you don’t have to do that.” She stated
“But I want to since you treated me to breakfast” I said
“oh, alright then. I think I saw a candy shop around the corner.” She said turning around and starting to walk the other way.
while we were walking my phone started ringing.
“Hello?” I answered
“Justin where are you? You have to be back in a hour to start getting ready for your interviews” my mom asked
“I’m walking around with Jessica. We will be back in about a half hour” I stated
“Stay safe you don’t want a repeat of last time” she said before handing up
“What happened last time?” Jessica asked
“we had a concert in Kansas and I was really hungry and non of the food places in the stadium were open yet. I remembered seeing a buger king in the same parking lot as the stadium so I took a Segway out and rode it threw the burger king to get a whopper and my fans saw me and I got mobbed. It took my mom 15 minutes to figure out I was gone, it took the security team 20 minutes to find me and help me” I said in one breath
“Wow, that’s crazy!” she said
“Yeah it doesn’t beat what happened in phoenix though” I said
“I take it you took the segway out and rode around the stadium hoping you wouldn’t be seen and with your luck you were and got mobbed” she said
“How did you know?” I asked astonished
“My sister is a fan remember.” She stated
“Oh yeah, hey look there’s the candy shop!” I said as I pointed ahead
“Race ya?” she asked
“Your on” I said smirking
“1 2 4!” she said before running off
“Hey you were suppose to say 3!” I yelled after her.
She just laughed and was almost to the door. I knew I wouldn’t be able to catch up with her because I was wearing baggy pants and I didn’t want them to fall down and see my yellow ducky boxers.
“Wow grandpa it took you long enough” she said when I got to the door.
“ha ha so funny” I said opening the door for her
“Why thank you” she said and walked in.
When I walked in I was hit with that sweet smell of chocolate and candy. I was truly in heaven. As I walked around I saw that there was some wrapped candy that had my face on and there were some that had Victoria Grace face as well. I looked up to the walls and saw that there were posters as well and some posters of other artist as well. I walked up to one wall where there was a close up of Victoria’s face and I studied it. It cant be I thought to myself after looking at the poster for a few seconds. I looked over to where Jessica was and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Jessica is Victoria Grace I figured out why she was so jumpy whenever I said she looked like she was hiding a secret. She was hiding who she really was! Now I know why she said she liked “Overboard” we’re singing that together tonight!
“Hey did you find anything you liked?” she asked surprising me
“huh oh um yeah I was just looking around” I blushed
“Ok well we should probably hurry up my mom called and said I needed to get back to start getting ready for my grandparents place” she said
Or to get ready to be Victoria I thought
After I paid for our candy we started walking back to the hotel. I wonder when she will tell me who she really is. I’ll just drop that and let her tell me herself. Hopefully it’ll be soon.
“Mmm I forgot how good sour patch kids are!” she said
“I know that’s why I love them. It’s the perfect candy!” I said as I ate some from my bag
“You got that right. You know my family think I’m weird because I like sour candy.” She stated
“Hey do you think Victoria Grace likes sour candy?” I asked
I noticed she stopped and I turned to look at her.
“everything okay?” I asked
“you, you know.” She whispered
“ the candy store was covered with your posters and I put two and two together and I figured out who you were. Why were you hiding this?” I asked as I walked back to her.
“I wanted to have best of both worlds please you cant tell anyone!” she freaked
“your secret is safe with me” I said hugging her
“you wont treat me different will you?” she asked while looking down
“Are you kidding me?! Just because I know who you really are doesn’t mean I’ll start acting different around you” I stated
“Thank you Justin, we should probably start heading back so we both can get ready for tonight.” She said
“So if you don’t mind me asking but do I still call you Jessica or Victoria?” I whispered
“Jessica is my real name” She laughed “But tonight when you see me can you call me Victoria? My parents cant know you know who I am.” She asked.
“Of course” I replied smiling.
