Twins.

I take a sip from my soda and look around the food court waiting for Alex to finish talking on the phone. I sigh as I notice all my shopping bags on the floor, Alex hadn’t believed me earlier about me shopping until I dropped, unfortunately for him, I proved him wrong. But now I had a whole bunch of things I didn’t actually need.

“I have an idea.” Alex says as he sits in front of me and takes my soda and takes a drink from it.

“What kind of idea?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

“How would you like to come to my house to meet some of my friends?”

I bite my lip unsure about the idea, “it’ll be fun,” Alex adds as he notices my hesitation.

“Sure, sounds good.” I say with a small smile.

“Great, so if you’re done shopping we can go right now.” He says with a big smile.

I laugh a bit and stand up; I start picking up my shopping bags before Alex stands up and starts doing the same.

“Not to sound rude or anything, but your parents must be loaded.”

“My dad and step-mom were very rich, and when they died everything they owned was left to me, so my parents were very loaded.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, I know how that feels.”

I look at him with a small smile, he was probably saying that to make me feel better, “thanks.”

“So who do you live with now?”

“My birth mom, who I didn’t know until two years ago,” I say not bothering to mention Ariana.

“Wow that must have been though.”

I shrug, “let’s talk about something else, so who exactly am I going to be meeting?”

“Just some of my good friends, we have a band together.”

“You’re in a band?” I ask completely astonished, Ariana had never mentioned that before.

“Yeah, the guys and I are hoping to get signed pretty soon, that’s what we want to do with our lives.”

“That would be so great! What do you do in the band?” I ask curiously.

“Uh… I’m the lead singer, and I play some guitar,” Alex says with a big smile on his face.

“I would love to hear you sing.”

“I actually have a demo in the car; you can hear it on our way to my house.”

“That sounds good,” I reply with a smile.

We make our way through the parking lot and soon we get to Alex’s car, we put all my shopping bags in the back seat and get in. Alex looks through his CD’s and soon put a blank covered CD into the stereo. I began to move my head to the music as soon as it started playing, and Alex began to drive away from the mall.

Fifteen minutes later Alex parked in front of a house, which I recognized as the party house. I got out of the car and waited for Alex to be by my side.

“I really liked the music, and you have a great voice.”

Alex gives me a big wide smile and places his arm around my shoulder as we walk into his house;

“I’m going to tell my mom that the guys are coming and that you’re here.” Alex says and walks away.

I walk into the hall and look at the pictures on the wall, I stare at one in particular, and then I feel Alex standing next to me, “you have a brother?” I ask and turn to look at him.

He looks at the picture for a few seconds and then looks away and sighs, “I had a brother.” He says staring at the picture once more.

“I’m so sorry,” I say and take his hand in mine and give it a small squeeze, letting him know he wasn’t alone.

He looks at me with a sad smile and whispers, “thanks.”

I nod just as there’s a knock on the door, I let go of his hand, “that must be Jack.” Alex says and walks to the front door; a skinny guy with dark hair walks in and gives Alex a pat on the back.

“Jack, this is Meghan.” Alex says as he leads Jack towards me.

“Hi, I think I saw you at the party last night.” I say and shake his hand shyly.

“I remember you; you were standing alone in the corner until Alex started talking to you.”

I nod my head as I feel my cheeks burn, “yeah I was the loser all alone in the corner.”

We continue talking as we wait for the rest of the guys to arrive, five minutes later Rian arrives, and three minutes after him Zack walked into the house.

I greeted them both and shook their hands feeling shy; it felt weird knowing that these were the people Ariana hanged out with almost every single day.

“Since we’re all here now, how about we play some super Mario bros?” Jack says as he cracks his fingers.

“We can only play four players on that,” Zack points out.

“Whoever looses the person who isn’t playing can take the losers spot,” I say with a small smile.

“Let’s get playing!” Jack shouts and runs up the stairs,

Alex shakes his head and rolls his eyes; he takes my hand and leads me up the stairs as we walk behind Rian and Zack. We walk into a room which I guessed to be Alex’s.

After two hours of playing the boys decided it would be fun to play for something.

“Whoever wins gets to Kiss Meghan,” Jack says as he wiggles his eyebrows.

I raise an eyebrow; I really don’t know how to feel about this, flattered or angry?

“Guys,” Alex says in a warning tone of voice.

“I’m cool with it” I say with a small shrug.

Jack grins, and I laugh.

“Alex you just need one star to win.” Rian says as he stares at the TV screen.

Alex bites his bottom lip and focuses harder on the game, a few seconds later Jack groans and Alex shouts, “Yes!”

He walks right up to me and presses his lips against mine and kisses me, I kiss him back happily.

Alex steps back as soon as Rian starts whistling,

“I said kiss her, not eat her face.” Jack says with an amused smile.

“Sorry,” Alex mumbles giving me a small smile.

“Don’t be.” I reply matching his smile.
