Nuclear Reign

October 12, 2047

Stores everywhere are closed. I can’t honestly say I’m surprised. If anything, I’m shocked it hadn’t happened sooner. All stores have been empty for about a week and there’s no gas left to transport products from the warehouses. Although, who knows if they have anything left either.

It’s scary seeing Wal-Mart closed. Maybe this really is the end. On the news this morning, the anchor said the United States finally fought back. Apparently, we started dropping nuclear warheads at two in the afternoon and haven’t stopped since.

I don’t think it’s about oil anymore. France and Russia are talking about joining our little ‘disagreement’. I’m not sure who’s on whose side, but I know this won’t end well.

The whole situation reminds me of a quote from Albert Einstein. “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”

That’s probably all that’s going to be left when this is done – sticks and stones.
