To Write Love on His Arms

FourtyOne-

"Watch your step." I say as I skillfully walk across the river by stepping on the small rocks. Lyn barks happily from behind us and I smile. Atticus whines and runs across quickly while Lyn takes her time and walks calmly to us.

Atticus hands me a tennis ball and I smile. "Lyn." I call to her and her ears perk up as soon as she sees the ball in my hand. I raise the ball in the air and make a throwing motion, Lyn immediately whips her head around to see where the ball lands.

I stiffly my laughter and Lyn whines and looks back at me when she realizes she's been tricked. Atticus punched my arm lightly, "You meanie." He says. I laugh and pull my arm back then throw the ball for real. I watch as the ball whips through the air and falls in the distance. Lyn sprints and hops over the overgrown grass and flowers.

I reach down and grab Atticus' wrist and tug him along, searching for a place to sit. "You know I found you somewhere around here." I tell him as we continue walking. "Really?" He asks. I nod my head and throw down the back pack I had been carrying.

Atticus sits down and I follow his actions. "How did you even out here?" I ask, looking over at him. Atty looks at the sun and says nothing for a while. I sit back, resting my arms on the floor to support me. I feel the wind blow around us and I close my eyes, remembering the day easily.

I was completely shocked at what my own dog had led me to. Out in the open was a boy, sprawled across the grass in broad daylight. His clothes were wet, most likely from last nights rain and his hair had leaves tangled into his bleached locks.

Lyn whined softly and ran up to him, licking his face. I just stood there, dumb founded. This boy was completely gorgeous, how the hell could he have gotten out here. No one ever visits this place.

Lyn barked loudly and sharp instantly getting my attention and making my body start moving. I immediately went into my little doctor mode and knelt down close to the boy. I rolled him over and touched his forehead. I hissed when it was surprisingly icy but pressed my hand back there again. He couldn't be dead, he would've been blue. I sighed in relief when I felt a small amount of warmth radiate from him and then moved my hand down to his neck, checking for a pulse.

"I...I..." Atticus sighs and slouched where he was sitting. I sat up and saw a frown displayed on his lips. "Hey don't be....sad...." My words trailed off as I grabbed Atticus' chin and forced him to look at me. The wind blew his hair slightly and his eyes sparkled from the sun.

I stared into them for a second, getting lost in their chocolaty pools. I found our faces inching closer slowly and soon our breathes were mingling. I swallowed, slightly nervous. Atticus' eyes just stared up at me, waiting for what would happen next.

"Would you mind if..." I whispered and Atticus shook his head. "No." he whispered leaning forward and connecting our lips.
