To Write Love on His Arms

FiftySeven-

"First off, before anything; I want to thank June for helping Atticus so much. I remember when things first began to go downhill...and seeing my son....look so..." Mrs. Pence began tearing up as she looked at Atticus. I felt Atty's arm around my waist tighten as he looked down at the floor. "Seeing him look so lost... as a mother it was one of the hardest things I had to see.The nerve of that damn boy... He took Atticus away from us and changed Atty so much until I hardly even recognized him." His mom shook her head. She rubbed the tears away from her eyes and looked over at me.

"Then you found him June and you helped him so much in so little time. One day I'm worrying over his well being and a couple days later I see him in such a good environment and in good clothing." Atticus' family smiled at me, all looking at me and nodding their heads. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked beside me only to find my dad, smiling proudly at me. I couldn't believe.

Was what I did really that amazing? Did this mean as much as they're making it seem?

"You gave us the real Atticus back, June. I thank you a lot for that." Mrs. Pence smiled at me and I just returned it. "Oh mom." Atticus sighed as he walked away from me and engulfed her in a hug. I just stood there in my striped v-neck, black skinnys and blue vans.

I took that moment to really just think about this family. How broken they had become and how a mother had to deal with seeing her son in such a fragile state. Then there were his uncles and aunts who had to see him suffer. There were his cousin that had probably tried talking some sense into him only to have their attempts fail. Not only that but his younger cousins didn't understand what was happening. All they knew was that this gorgeous boy had changed and wasn't himself.

"To June!" Atticus' cousin Derek yelled, raising his fist in the air. Derek's brown shoulder-length hair followed his movements as he looked at everyone. Atticus' family nodded and began clapping, some chanting my name and I just stood there dumbfounded.

"June." Atticus called me. I looked over at him in the passenger seat, seeing him curled up with his back facing the window. "Yeah?" I asked, looking back on the road. Lyn barked and sat in my lap, licking at my face. "Lyn, I'm driving." I scolded her as I turned my head to avoid her kisses. Atticus giggled and called out to the puppy, getting her to cuddle up with him instead.

"Thank you, for everything you've done for me. I really appreciate it." I glanced over at him, his big brown eyes looking up at me as he held Lyn up to his chest. "Atticus, as I said before, I'll do anything for you." I told him, keeping my left hand on the steering wheel as my right hand reached over and caressed his cheek. Atticus' eyes flutter close as he nuzzled into my hand. I ran my fingers through his hair and stroked his cheek.

"You know, honestly. I'm glad I found you that day. " I whispered, still looking at him until my head snapped back to the road when something dashed by. I hissed and slammed on the breaks, barely missing the guy in front of his by a couple inches.

"That was close, right mate?" He asked, putting his hands on the hood of the car. I just stared at him, amazed that I didn't kill him. He look very tall and skinny, reminding me of Jack Skellington. The fact that he was wearing a hoodie of previously mentioned character wasn't helping at all.

The boy walked over to my side and I rolled down the window as he leaned down, both of us staring at each other for a while. He had dull brown eyes and brown hair, with a blond patch on the side of his head. He looked at the rode ahead of us and then back at me.

How the fuck did I not hit him?

"I get it. Walking along a rode at night is not the best choice. But I'm not from around here at all. You see, I'm looking for someone really, an old acquaintance of some sort. If I keep walking down this way, what town will I run into?" Jack Skellington hoodie boy asked. I just stared at him in shock. "Um Bent View." I told him. He nodded his head and stood up, making is so the bottom half of Jack's grin was all I saw.

"Thanks man!" He said, patting the hood of the car and walking to the side of the rode then disappearing in the distance.

I head a gasp beside me, followed by the sound of hyperventilating.

Fuck I miss him, I hope I see him tomarrow.
I've missed to band meetings already.

I feel like I have no support from my mom what so ever. She only ever tells me negative things or trys showing my acedemic accomplishments off on Facebook. It disgust me. I'd done letting shit she says effect me.
