Lima Loser - Part Two.

TWENTY-FOUR;

“I’m going to kill him,” Puck informed me as we both climbed into his truck. I’d invited him over after school, so we were on our way to my house. He was telling me about what Mr. Schue had said to him and Blaze after the Glee meeting, and he didn’t seem very happy about it.

“No, you’re not,” I tried to calm him down. “What did Mr. Schuester say?”

“He told us that the next time he sees or hears of us arguing or fighting, we’re both automatically booted from the club for good…no second chances.” Puck told me. “And he made us hug.”

I burst out into laughter, and then stopped when Puck shot me a ‘look’. “Sorry… That’s terrible.”

“It is. I want to teach that kid a lesson he’ll never forget,” Puck glared out past the windshield at random students passing by.

“But you won’t,” I told him. “Because you want to stay in the Glee club, right?”

He didn’t answer me, so I tried again. “Riiiight?”

“Yeah, yeah,” he muttered. He started up the truck and pulled out of the school parking lot.

“I don’t want you to get into any more trouble because of me. You already have to work to pay for what happened. And it was my fault.”

“How the hell was it your fault?” he snapped. “I’m the one who jumped the guy.”

“Because I made you feel like you had to,” I said.

“That’s bullshit,” Puck slammed his hand down on the dashboard of his truck. “I would’ve done it anyway.”

“No, you wouldn’t have,” I shook my head. “You would’ve been pissed, sure. But you wouldn’t have been as violent.”

“That’s where you’re wrong,” he argued. “Blaze pisses me off so much, and I’ve been looking for ways to beat the crap out of him since day one. Him spreading shit about the two of us was the perfect opportunity.”

It was silent for a minute or so, and then I looked over at him. “Did you find a job yet?”

“Yeah,” he nodded. “Part-time at Dunkin’ Donuts.”

I giggled a little. He smirked. “Hey, no making fun.”

“I can’t wait to see you in your cute uniform,” I leaned in and gave him a quick kiss. “I’m helping you pay for what happened, by the way.”

“What?” He gave me a puzzled look.

“You heard me,” I shrugged. “I put my resume into Sheets ‘n’ Things yesterday.”

“I didn’t ask you to do that,” Puck said, sternly.

“Oh, well, sorry, father! I didn’t know that I had to ask for your permission.” I rolled my eyes. “I’m just doing it so we can pay him back quicker and get him out of our lives faster.”

“I appreciate you wanting to help,” he put his hand in mine. “But I don’t think you should have to work to pay for something I’ve done.”

“Well, too bad, ‘cause I’m doing it,” I gave him a ‘don’t-really-care-what-you-say’ smile.

He tried to argue a little more, but every time he opened his mouth to say something, I interrupted by shouting jibberish at him. Eventually, he gave up, and we were at my house. He pulled up the driveway, turned off the truck, and we both got out. We walked into the house together, and the first thing I did was call out to my mom. Not receiving an answer, I looked over at Puck, who was looking back at me as if to say “Home alone, huh?” I rolled my eyes as he followed me into the kitchen. I began to rummage through the pantry for food, and when I was about to give up, I remembered my secret emergency food stash in my room.

I immediately ran to the staircase and bounded up the stairs, with a puzzled Puck following behind me. When I got to my room, I pulled open one of the drawers that held my undergarments, and dug through it in search of my stash, which was hidden underneath everything. I found a big bag of Doritos and four cans of Coke. I took it out and handed a can to Puck, who just stood there with a weird expression on his face.

“Emergency food stash,” I began.

“I noticed…” he nodded, taking the can.

We both sat on my bed and pigged out while watching re-runs of Full House and Friends. During a commercial break, I looked over at him. “So, when do you start at Dunkin’ Donuts?”

“Friday,” he told me. “I have Saturday off, though. My mom wants me to take Natalie out trick-or-treating.”

“Oh, shit!” I winced. “I forgot that Halloween was this close.”

“Yeah, I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to it this year, either,” Puck shrugged. “Last year, the whole football team TP’d Rachel’s house.”

I laughed a little. “So, what’s gonna happen this year?”

“Come trick-or-treating with Nat and I,” he offered. “We can steal her candy when she’s not looking.”

I playfully slapped him. “You’re awful. But yes, I’ll tag along. What are you dressing up as?”

“I don’t know,” he shrugged again. “Maybe we can go as a pair, like Batman and the Joker. Or Sid and Nancy. Or-”

“Jack and Sally,” I cut him off.

“Who?” he asked, confused.

“Yeah!” I grinned, thinking about it more and totally ignoring Puck’s question. Puck would make a perfect Jack, considering he was still pretty much bald. All he needed was a tuxedo, a bit of white makeup, and some drawn on stitches for a smile. He would make a sexy Jack, for sure. And I would go as Sally. All I had to do was get some blue-ish colored makeup, also draw on stitches and long eyelashes, get a red wig, and stitch on some pieces of fabric to a dress. Simple as that.

“I still don’t know who they are…” he trailed off as he watched my excited expression.

“Ever see The Nightmare Before Christmas?” I asked. He shook his head, and I swear to god, my jaw dropped to the floor. “You’re insane. It’s only the most famous and awesome Tim Burton movie ever.”

“Who’s Tim Harmon?” he was still as clueless as before.

“Tim Burton. And obviously if you don’t know him, you’re not worth telling,” I joked. “Wanna watch it?”

He nodded. I stood up and walked over to my movie shelf, which consisted of all classic Disney movies, Tim Burton movies, and concerts like Rush, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, and Megadeth. I grabbed The Nightmare Before Christmas and slipped it into the DVD player before switching off the lights in my room and going back over to Puck. I positioned myself on the bed next to him, and cuddled into him right away as the movie came on.

------------------------

“Wasn’t that amazing?” I grinned as the credits started to scroll down the screen.

“I gotta be honest…” he began. I’d expected him to start ranting about how boring it was and that he’d rather watch a movie with Megan Fox in it. “It was pretty cool.”

Surprised, I looked up at him. “Told you,” I smiled.

All of a sudden, Billy Joel began to blast out of Puck’s pocket. He reached into it right away and took out his phone. He glanced at the screen, and then at me. “It’s Artie. He wants me to go to his house to work on his song with him.”

“Oh,” I tried not to sound disappointed. “Well, that’s okay. We’ll discuss this later.”

He stood up and put on his jacket. “I think it’s a good idea. Dressing up as Jack and Sally for Halloween, I mean. We should. It’ll be fun.”

“You think?” I grinned.

“Yeah,” he nodded. And the next words I never thought I’d hear come out of Puck’s mouth. “I also think we should do one of the songs from the movie.”

God, I was so in love with this boy.

Okay, so I love The Nightmare Before Christmas (and Tim Burton in general). I had to add it into this story somewhere.
Not that interesting of a chapter, I know. But I'm working on a new one now and I'll put it up as soon as possible. Until then, COMMENT! :D

PS. What'd you guys think of last night's episode? Amazing or amazing?
Loves me some afternoon delight. ;)
