Lima Loser - Part Two.

SIX;

The next day came by slowly, but it came by. I stood at the slushie machine with Rachel at lunchtime, watching with joy as she filled a cup up with bright red slush.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do this," she gave me a devious smile.

"I bet most girls at this school are wanting to do the same," I stated. "I seriously wish I could be the one doing it."

"Don't worry. You'll get just as much pleasure by seeing the look on his face." She looked over at me. "You ready?"

"Oh, yeah." I grinned, sounding like the Kool-aid man.

We made our way down the hallway. Most people didn't move or cringe or anything, mainly because they thought Rachel was too goody-goody to throw a slushie in someone's face. Boy, would they be in for something.

We eventually found Puck standing up by his locker with his arms around Santana's waist. They were basically having public sex. I rolled my eyes to the max, and we approached them.

"Excuse me, Noah," Rachel coughed a little to get his attention.

He let go of Santana for a second to see what Rachel wanted, but before he had a chance to say "what?", Rachel threw the slushie directly in his face. I stood next to her, trying to hold back a laugh, but I just couldn't. Even Santana stifled a giggle, before she walked away, embarrassed that she'd just been mackin' on a slushie victim.

First, Puck looked surprised. His mouth literally made an "O" shape. I never thought I'd see him make a non-cocky expression, but he'd just proven me wrong. After he realized what was going on, his eyebrows narrowed, his face turned red, and I lol'd hard.

"This is GARBAGE!" he yelled. He slammed his fist into his locker, and then glared down at Rachel. "You promised me you wouldn't put me through this."

"Excuse me!?" I cut in. I walked right up to him so that I was only inches from his face. "Don't start on promises. You promised me that you wouldn't break my heart...and look where we are now."

"At least I told you the truth! At least I didn't lead you on!" Puck shouted.

"Oh, really? So, dating me for money for a few weeks, pretending to like me, and breaking up with me in song isn't leading me on?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I didn't pretend to like you..." he said, quietly.

"Oh. Well, you could have fooled me with the way you've been fucking treating me. I'm not a toy to be used and then tossed in the trash." I told him as calmly as possible, which wasn't calm at all.

"Courtney, listen...I-"

"No," I cut him off. "You had your chance to talk. And you summed up what you wanted to say to me perfectly in that Bad Company song you sang last week to the bitch who doesn't give a shit about you and only wants you for your dick."

Puck looked down at his shoes to avoid the anger and hurt in my eyes. He knew I was right, and I honestly hoped he was feeling like shit.

"I'm done, Puck. I just wanted to give you a taste of what you've done to me," I told him. I then looked him up and down. "And wash yourself off. You look abso-fucking-lutely ridiculous."

I turned around and walked away, with Rachel following me. As soon as we were out of the hallway, she burst into laughter. "You showed him! That was awesome!"

But the look on my face showed her that I was upset. "Uh, I think I'm gonna go puke or something. I'll talk to you later, okay?"

"Alright..." Rachel looked worried. "Do you need me to come with you? I can hold your hair while you throw up."

"Nah, I'm good. Thanks, though." I threw her a fake smile. "Hey, is there a Glee club meeting after school? I'm just wondering because I went yesterday and nobody was there."

"Mr. Schuester cancelled it yesterday. He announced it over the intercom."

"Oh. I guess I didn't hear it," I shrugged.

"Guess not. To answer your question, though, yes. He rescheduled yesterday's meeting to today."

"Okay. Thanks. Talk to you later, Rachel."

"Bye!" she waved. "Feel better!"

I began to make my way towards the bathroom, but somehow ended up in Miss Pillsberry's office.

-----------------------------------------------

"Oh, hello there, Courtney," Miss Pillsberry greeted me as I entered her office. "It's a surprise seeing you here. Please, uh, take a seat."

I silently did as I was told. "So, uh, how can I help you?"

"Well, Miss Pillsberry...I'm just...sick."

"Sick how?" she asked.

"Sick of everything. I really liked this guy..."

"Puck?" Miss Pillsberry cut me off. "I've just, uh, been seeing you two together a lot in the past month."

"Yes. We were dating for a while, and I thought things were going great. All of a sudden, he dumped me...for no reason. I've been depressed ever since," I told her.

"Oh, honey," she gave me a sympathetic look. "I'm so sorry to hear that."

"Me too," I nodded. "Any advice to help me get over him?"

"Well," she began. "I don't know if there's a way to simply get over someone just like that. Maybe you should just stay away from him for a while."

"I'd love to, but he's in a bunch of my classes and he's in Glee club with me," I began to sob a little.

"Have you talked to him since?"

"I confronted him right after he did it. He told me he only went out with me because Sue paid him," I explained, leaving out my most recent confrontation with him.

"Seriously?" Miss Pillsberry's eyes widened.

I nodded again, not able to speak. I could sense waterworks, and didn't feel like embarrassing myself any further.

"Well, Courtney, I, uh, don't really know what to say to that. That's really harsh," she winced. "I think you should just, uh, let him think that what he's doing to you doesn't hurt, even if it does."

"So, just pretend to move on?" I asked, wiping my eyes with the sleeve of my shirt.

"That's one way you could put it," she told me. "Just let him know that it doesn't bother you. Your sadness is what he's feeding on. Also, I know it's not easy, but try to avoid him as much as possible. The less you see him, the easier it will be to recover."

"Thanks, Miss Pillsberry," I said as I stood up. "That helped a lot."

"No problem, Courtney. If you ever need anything, you know where my office is," she gave me a warm smile. "And remember...even players like Puck have feelings. You know he still has strong feelings for you, especially now after realizing what he lost. He does care about you. It just took him longer to realize it."

I left the office, hanging onto what Miss Pillsberry had just said to me.
