Finding Winter

She looked around from her spot on the beach. The world was quite, aside from the ‘whoosh’ coming from the turning waves. The ringlets of chocolate that usually framed her face flowed gently behind her in the soft evening breeze. She hugged herself tightly into her over-sized sweatshirt, the colder dusk air brushing over her as she sat there, admiring the simple complexity of the ocean. The sun was making its way down, creating a glow of orange and pink over the water. It was beautiful. The very picture of paradise, but Winter was too distracted to notice.

It was the second week of her 17th summer. She was supposed to be with her friends, driving around enjoying their last summer together before they all went off to college, but instead she was stranded here at her grandfathers in South Carolina.

Over the last year Winter Thompson got into some trouble so her mother decided to send her to her grandfathers house. Upset, Winter goes prepared to have the worst of her life...but she has no idea whats in store. A story full of love, heartbreak and finding ourself when you didn't know you were lost.
