Day By Day, Life Goes On
Day Nineteen: Hug Me
After I showered, shaved and got dressed.
All I wanted to do was hug the people that I knew loved me.
I visited my mom for the first time in five years.
I hugged her a lot.
I cried.
I hugged my father for the first time in over fifteen years.
I hugged one of my best friends for the first time since we graduated.
I hugged my brother.
We both cried.
I wanted to hug Frankie.
I wanted to cry with him.
But I couldn’t.
So I hugged the rest to make up for the fact he was missing.
All I wanted to do was hug the people that I knew loved me.

I hugged her a lot.
I cried.
