You and I

As I watched her, she closed her eyes and her body swayed to and fro, her red hair shining in the light of our homey kitchen. “Woman” playing in the background, she wore green tights and high wasted shorts and a cut off AC DC shirt. She was happy and I couldn’t help but want to be a part of her happiness. She shone, she was like the dawn breaking in the morning. She was the air in my lungs and the lines on my hands. I loved her more then she had originally thought. She had no idea how special she was to me. How she made it all go round.

She began humming along to the song, her voice beautiful and soft. She didn’t have to try to be what she was, she just went with it and took it as it came. I could tell she thought I wasn’t watching and she opened her eyes and glanced at me, then giggled as she saw my face and said
“What?” I smiled and stood up and went to her, holding her in my arms.
