You and I

I turned on my side and saw her there, her long thick hair strewn across the pillow. I heard her slow steady breath and the beat of her caring heart. It was warm underneath the covers even though it was snowing outside. I lifted my head and glanced outside the window to see the pure white of untouched snow. I heard her shift and turned to see her gray eyes on me, her cheeks so soft and elegant. I smiled and kissed her. She smelled rosy and soft like a child. Then she got up and went to the windows opening up the large curtains wide. The whiteness enveloped the room and it looked as if we were in heaven, just the two of us.
