Damned If I Do Ya, Damned If I Don't

The next day I was getting out of hospital, Lisa drove me home but had to go to work so I was left in the house myself. I felt fine, it was only really my chest and throat that hurt. I was reading a book when my phone vibrated, I jumped and pressed the button
“Hello ?” I coughed
“Alex ?” said the voice
“Yes” I replied “Who is this ?”
“It's Katie” she answered “I was wondering if you wanted me to bring Josh over ?”
“I would love that” I coughed
“I will bring over some medicine for you” she replied
“Ok then, I will see you in ten ?” I asked
“Yeah, bye” she said and hung up
This would be my opportunity to get some answers. There was a knock on the door and I slid it open to find Katie standing in jeans and a tank top with her hair pulled back, even after having a baby she still looked amazing. She passed Josh to me and then picked up her bags.
“He has missed you” she smiled
“Really ?” I asked
“Of course he has” she replied “He loves you”
That made me smile. Katie had brought me some fruit and medicine plus a few DVD's so I wouldn't get bored. She let me feed Josh and change him. I loved being a dad, the responsibility felt amazing, just having a child felt amazing. I could feel Josh becoming more tired so I may him down in the cot I had bought him, he slept so much. Katie made herself a cup of tea and made me some honey and lemon to help my throat, we sat down on the sofa ans sipped our drinks. There was an awkward silence.
“What happened to your face ?” I asked
“Nothing” she mumbled
“It doesn't look like nothing” I replied
“Well it is” she said
There was another awkward silence
“Did you visit me at the hospital ?” I asked, slowly
“Is that a serious question ?” she said “I was there with you for four days !, didn't Jack tell you ?”
“Sort of” I mumbled
“You didn't believe him” she laughed “Lisa was there for maybe half an hour in total”
“She told me that she was there for four days and that you didn't come to see me”
She laughed again “Who do you believe ?”
“You” he whispered “We need to talk about us”
“There is nothing to say” she whispered
This wasn't an easy subject
“While I was in the hospital, I heard a voice speaking to me” he said “I assumed it was Lisa because I heard the words I love you, but now I'm not so sure who it was”
“I don't know what you are talking about” she stuttered
“I think you do” I said and held her hand
I sat my cup on the table, it had helped a lot. I brushed some hair off her eye and softly kissed her cheek bone. She let out a small whimper, that was one of her favorite places to be kissed. She pulled away
“Alex, I can't trust you” she whispered
“Katie” I said softly “What I did you to you was unforgivable, I hurt you but I now realise that losing you was the biggest mistake I had ever made, you are nothing compared to Lisa. You are kind, passionate, creative, beautiful, wonderful, funny, smart, sensational. When I look at you I can't help but stare you captivate me and enchant me, you take my breath away from me. My hearts race quickens and I can't help be drawn in. When you smile I feel like the whole word stops, when I kiss you I feel like I am not real like it is my favorite dream and I never want to wake up, when I touch you I feel like I am on fire. Your beauties are endless”
A tear slipped from her eye and I wiped it away
“I love you” she finally managed to whispered
“You don't know how much it means to hear you say that” I whispered
I kissed her cheek again and planted soft kisses down her neck, I could feel her heart beat quicken and she let out another moan.
“We can't do this right now” she said “Josh is here”
“Give me ten minutes” I replied and pulled out his phone
“Jack ?” I said
“Yeah, I need you to look after Josh today” I smiled “I have some stuff to sort out”
“Yes, she is” I smiled “Oh don't worry I will”
Her faced scrunched up and I stuck my tongue out at her, which made her giggle. Jack appeared not long after that and took Josh away for a few hours, we felt bad for doing it because we loved him but I need to sort things out with Katie
“Where were we ?” she asked
“I think I was about to do something I have wanted to for a while” I grinned
