That Ridge Would Fall

Nellie was forced to hang up her uniform when a mistake cost her a good friend and a high-paying, enjoyable job. She was allowed to keep the badge and the gun, but only for pity. How could anyone deny her when she begged?

Figuring that a vacation is what she needs, Nellie's parents give her permission to stay at their mountain home that ascends a beautiful lake and a lovely view. The neighbor, Hunter, is a mysterious man, even more mysterious then the thicket and the animals in it. He lends her a hand with the garbage one day and for a while her suspicion quiets itself.

Murders cases in the surrounding area begin to arise and Nellie tries once more to redeem herself. When the police can't seem to catch on, she willingly whips out her gun and takes the murders into her own hands. But Nellie needs to know if she can trust Hunter to help her or hurt her.
