My New Dad Hunts Ghost

Tracy’s POV

Zak and I sat on the couch in silence. The food was done and ready to eat all we were waiting for was Mikey. Zak agreed to meet him and I was beyond nervous about it all.

How would they react to each other? Will Mikey hate him? Will Zak forbid me from hanging out with Mikey?

I had so many questions and no answers.

The doorbell pulled me from my thoughts and I took a deep breath before going to answer it.

Zak’s POV

An Hour Later

This Mikey character concerned me. He seemed very hostile and aggressive and Tracy was very submissive to him.

That’s not the Tracy I know; she’s strong and independent but around him… He was like a crutch to her and that bothered me. I didn’t want my daughter to need a male in her life other than me, now I sounded jealous but think about it from my view for a second.

If she’s a girl who needs a man she could become insecure and fall at any man’s will. No dad wanted that for their daughter.

But then again no dad can say no to their princess either.

Which is why she was hanging out with Mikey right now at the skate park despite my better judgment.

I have been sitting here weighing the pros and cons in my head this whole time. Everything I just listed were cons but let’s look at the pros. Tracy explained what had happened to cause her and Mikey to separate. Her mom forbid his mom from contact with her so that’s how Tracy ended up in the system; they missed each other and I didn’t want to be the second person to separate them.

They were like brother and sister and they needed each other. I wasn’t planning to make or adopt any more kids anytime soon and Mikey was an only child.

So far the good outweighed the bad in their relationship and I couldn’t resist her puppy dog eyes.

My phone rang breaking me from my thoughts and I looked down to see Tracy’s number flash on the front.

“Hey?” I said but her cheery voice didn’t match mine.

“Daddy I need your help.” She cried.

“What’s going on?”

“They are trying to take me away.”
