Lyrissa's Sparkles II

Chapter Seventeen

Lyrissa sat on a bench in the Rose Garden, shaking and crying into Granny Rose’s shoulder as she comforted her. “The baby is just fine, you’re okay.” She soothed, but know it was doing no good, “The kids are all right, Jazz and Jubilee are just fine, Scott and Rogue went to pick you all up. You’re in the infirmary right now… everything’s okay, Lyrissa.”

“I want, L-Logan, to come back.”

“I know, honey, I know.”

“No you don’t!” she screamed, and quickly pulled away, “You don’t know! You weren’t left alone with your baby because he didn’t want it! You aren’t sitting here alone because you aren’t good enough for him!”

“Lyrissa,”

“Just stop! I’m sick of people lying to me! Just admit it, he’s never coming back!”

Granny Rose sighed and stood up as Lyrissa started to wake. Everyone was crowded into that small room when her eyes opened. “Lyrissa!” Scott breathed, only able to shift his weight to be closer to her in the packed room. “We were all very worried about you,” Hank sighed, but Lyrissa’s eyes only held sorrow and pain.

“Hey, Sugar, don’t worry about him. He’ll come around.” Rogue smiled, but realized her mistake when the room darkened. “Stop lying to me!” she ordered sharply. “Hey, Petit,” Gambit tried, but was cut off by one of her wisps making contact across his face. “Go away. Just get out and go away! Leave me alone!” she yelled, knowing that she could lose control at any moment, and not wanting to hurt them. Andrew and the other “kids” wanted to stay and comfort her, but were pushed out and forced to obey her request.

“If he ever comes back, I’ll bloody kill him.” Max swore as he and the others walked up to the main room. “If he comes back, maybe Sparkles will get better.” Allie reminded. “Why would he come back? He’s a useless jerk! Sparkles is carrying his baby! She’s only been in love with him; she’ll only ever love him! And he can only think about him!” Dante retorted.

“Calm yourselves, children, he has not left because of such selfish reasons. Wolverine is a very complicated man.” Storm sighed. “Wolverine is killing her, and you know it.” Andrew muttered. Only silence followed.

Late that night Lyrissa fell asleep and went back to the Garden.

This time there was someone beside her Granny Rose who broke her heart with his very presence. She wanted with everything she was made of to run to him, hold him, kiss him, and never let him go. But she also wanted very much to kill him.

“Lyrissa,” Logan spoke, but she held her hands up to silence him, knowing that if she spoke her voice would fail her. “Lyrissa, please,” he begged, looking more fragile than she ever thought imaginable. “Why?” she demanded, “What did I do that wasn’t good enough? I gave you everything!”

“I had a lot to think about, all right?”

“No! Not all right!” she yelled, now giving in to the bombardment of emotions she was facing.

“I ain’t the kind to be a father, I was afraid I’d do the kid more harm than good! I didn’t wanna hurt you, or the kid!”

“You were afraid? You left because you were afraid?!” she was quickly approaching him as tears streamed from her eyes, “I’m scared too, Logan!” she screamed when he tried to speak. All he could do was stand there while she took all her anger out on him, beating against his chest mercilessly and screaming everything she thought and needed to say while sobbing until she collapsed into his arms and just cried.

As soon as the beating stopped and he was able to just hold her, his own emotions caught up to him, and he refused to let her go. However their reunion was short lived as they both woke up.

Logan’s eyes shot open as he took a deep breath, and instantly he unleashed his anger on that night’s hotel room. Everything was destroyed before he stormed out and continued speeding home, determined not to stop until he was at the mansion.

Lyrissa woke up in tears, and continued to cry until someone came into the room and started to hug her. “It’s okay, sis. You’ll get through this, okay? What did you dream about?” Eliza asked, sighing when she told her it was about Logan, but she didn’t dare tell her it was in the Garden. She was still afraid of what Granny Rose might do if she spoke of that place. “Don’t focus on it right now, okay? Whatever happens, will happen, and your life will have to go on. If you want to think about your baby’s life, think about everyone who will love her, and care for her. How many loving family members she will have here, and how huge her family is all over the world! She has an aunt in Ireland, family in Sweden and someone in nearly every state here in America! No matter what happens, she will never be alone or unloved. I can just see the beauty in her eyes too; she’ll have your eyes. Every girl takes their mother’s eyes in this family, see?” she smiled, making her eyes go as wide as possible and making Lyrissa laugh.

“What makes you think it’ll be a girl?” Lyrissa asked with a laugh.

“I have a feeling, I don’t know. I just think she’ll be a girl.”

“And what if it’s a boy?”

“Then he’ll be just as beautiful, and just as loved. I don’t care if you have a girl, or a boy, I’m going to spoil them nonetheless. I just have a feeling she’ll be a girl.”

“Thanks,” she smiled as her tears stopped.

“What for?”

“Not being like everyone else, trying to make it better by saying he’ll come back.” She sighed. “Hey, I know my baby sister. Besides, why would I try to convince you of something I don’t know? That’d be like me trying to teach you physics… well, maybe not that bad, but still.” She shrugged and hugged her again; “Steph is outside the door, by the way. He wants in really bad but I told him to stay out under penalty of death.”

No sooner did she announce it, did Stephen teleport into the room. “Sorry, but I need to be in here it’s killing me not being able to help!” he explained. “It’s okay, I don’t care.” Lyrissa smiled as he hugged her. “I don’t like hearing you cry.” He frowned. “No one does.” Eliza nodded.

For the next few weeks things were about the same. The able-bodied X-Men, which meant anyone who wasn’t pregnant, were dealing with the men who started trouble at the park. They were from an anti-mutant group who called themselves the Friends of Humanity, and wanted nothing more than to take out all mutants, and remove them from the earth.

Lyrissa was still forced to take it easy, and spent most of her time with her siblings, and Granny Rose, since everyone else was busy taking care of the mansion. Granny Rose and Xavier were no longer at odds and Lyrissa was thankful for that since she was under enough stress without her uncle and grandmother arguing constantly.

Things did change, however, when Jamie came flying through Lyrissa’s bedroom door one night at a speed that broke his lifetime record. “G-go, downstairs, Lyrissa,” he panted. “Jamie what happened?” she demanded, being confused since she didn’t hear any of the kids fighting or crying until Stephen’s voice echoed through the halls from the main room. “LYRISSA!” he screamed. Within seconds she had teleported down, expecting trouble, and found something that made her heart stop, but it wasn’t Kiera’s unconscious body in Gambit’s arms that stopped her breathing.

Okay, the more evaluation I get on these chapters, the quicker I will post the rest of what I have written! I promise! I'll try to post one chapter per person who comments.
