Meeting Up With The Brother
Velaska parked her car outside her brother’s house. There were a lot of cars in the drive way; she was afraid that she might be interrupting a party. Velaska had a folder of stuff with her to prove that she is Matt’s sister. Mr. Wallus had told her that Matt thinks that his sister is dead. Velaska was soon knocking on the front door. Val answered it and pulled Velaska into a hug. “He’s going to be so happy to see that you’re alive” Val said happily, she knew that this girl at her door was Velaska.
“Is there a party going on? I can always just come back later” Velaska said
“No, the guys are over. Let me go get them; you may have a set” Val said with a smile. She hugged Velaska again before she went to go get the guys. Velaska sat in the love seat, which would give all the other seats to the guys. And she could look around without having to move.
Val soon came back with Matt, Zacky, Jimmy, Johnny and Brian. “Val, baby who’s this?” Matt asked and Velaska felt her insides go slightly cold.
“Matt, this is Velaska Sanders. She’s your sister” Val said
“No, my sister is dead” Matt said
“Just listen to what she has to say” Val said
“Fine” Matt said to his wife. “What’s your name?” Matt asked
“Velaska Ann Sanders” Velaska said
“Right. Well what can I help you with?” Matt asked. Val just sighed and sat down next to Matt. She knew he was being an ass and soon he’d regret it. “Well I moved back home. I’m settled in and so I thought I would see my brother. After all you’re the only family I have left” Velaska said
“If that’s the case, then enlighten us on what happened” Matt said
“Well we were heading home from a celebratory lunch/dinner. Dad went through a 4-way intersection, after he stopped of course. A guy plowed through the intersection, ramming our car. I found out that Dad had died upon impact. Mom was rushed to the ER but past away. I was send into a 3 year coma” Velaska said
“I’m glad you’re alright” Val said, as the guys had no idea of what to say
“How come I wasn’t informed?” Matt asked
“Lottee said she tried to update you but couldn’t get a hold of you” Velaska said. She could feel her arms getting hot. Shit! I forgot to take my medication! Velaska thought. At least Matt might know it’s her if she broke out.
“M, you paid for this tattoo when I was 19” Velaska said showing him the Deathbat tattoo on her wrist.
“Anyone can get a Deathbat tattoo on their wrist” Matt said
“Okay, well I have paperwork for you. It proves I’m your sister” Velaska said placing the folder on the coffee table
“You can make these up” Matt said
“Do you really think that I’m that much of a super fan that I would fake this? That I would bring up a horrid loss? For what? Really for fuckin what?!” Velaska said no longer pretending to be calm
“Actually I don’t know” Matt said
“So do you still think I’m some deranged fan?” Velaska asked
“I don’t know” Matt said
“What about you guys? You all have a mind of your own” Velaska said
“Well I don’t know either” Johnny said
“I think you are who you say you are” Jimmy said
“I’m just still processing the fact that you might actually still be alive” Zacky said
“You don’t look like Velaska did when I saw her last” Brian said
“You know I’m not dead. A coma is NOT the same thing as being dead” Velaska said, and the guys didn’t really say anything.
“Well Jimmy what makes you think she’s my sister?” Matt asked
“Well she looks like her, just more tattooed and more fit. I just get this feeling that it’s her” Jimmy said
“Look, I’m sorry I ever came here” Velaska said
“Why did you?” Brian asked
“Because I wanted to see my brother; tell him I’m alive. So that the bastard that ran the intersection didn’t take my whole family from me. But it looks like he did that anyway. Fuckin silly of me for thinking you’d be fuckin happy to see me again. And I would’ve loved to see you get married to Val, but I’m sorry it was during my finals so I couldn’t fly here. And now that I know you’ll do every fuckin thing you can do to deny the fact that I am your really sister, I’m leaving. If you want to be the fuckin asshole that you are being now then FINE! You and your group of asshole friends can rot in guilt of knowing that you just drove your own sister out of your life for good!” Velaska yelled. She got up and everyone could see the hives covering her skin. That made them start to think that she might actually be Matt’s sister.
“Thank you for letting me in Val” Velaska said nicely
“It’s okay. Stay in touch with me” Val said handing Velaska he cell phone number as they hugged. As they were hugging, Velaska’s back was exposed; showing off her tattoo. Avenged Sevenfold all looked at it. they all slowly went wide eyed, except for Jimmy. “Isn’t that the tattoo that Brian said would forever identify Velaska? Because it was basically her in a nutshell?” Jimmy pointed out. That seemed to do it for them, they knew now that this girl in front of them was Matt’s sister. “V?” Matt asked
“Laska?” Johnny, Zacky and Brian asked as Jimmy just smiled
“Goodbye” Velaska said to Val and head towards the door
“But V” Matt said
“Come on Laska” Jimmy said
Velaska turned and faced them; now her held back tears were escaping down her cheeks and she looked directly at Matt. “You brought this upon yourself” Velaska said and then slammed the front door shut behind her. Matt jumped out of the chair and ran to the door. By the time he got to the bottom of his steps, he saw Velaska high-tailed it away from the curb and down the street. His sister just walked back into his life and just like that, she was gone again. He slowly walked back into his house with his head hung low. “What have I done?” Matt asked no one in particular
“You were an asshole and just lost your sister for good” Val said and Matt just sat on the couch in a huff and sulked. The guys felt bad too, they were assholes to her too.
“So how’d it go?” Charlottee asked Velaska when she walked in, she didn’t even see her
“He was an asshole to me and denied me being his sister whenever and however he could” Velaska said as she walked to her room.
“I’m so sorry” Charlottee said
“Yea well now he lost me for good. He wanted it that way, and he got what he wanted” Velaska said. She was now curled up in a ball on her bed by her pillows crying her eyes out. At work the next day, Mr. Wallus went to visit Velaska to see how it went. “So how’d go?” Mr. Wallus asked
“Horribly wrong. He was an ass to me. He now lost me” Velaska said “Please don’t tell them I work here
“Okay, I won’t.”
