Jacob and I were in the middle of one of our mood swings since one of his little play dates with my sister didn’t go as he planned. I guess he just didn’t understand the fact that they were getting married but whatever let him deal with it the hard way. Embry told me that Jake wasn’t going to prom anymore since my sister blatantly refused to be his date several times including today as a last minute plea. Locked in his room is where Mr. Black told me that he was hiding in his depressive state. I couldn’t help but chuckle as Embry and I made our way through the house stopping outside the white door where I proceeded to pound my fist against it. “Jacob Black open this door right now!” I yelled and I could hear Mr. Black laughing from the living room.
“Go away Tay.” He grumbled lowly probably wallowing in self-pity.
“I will not until you either open the door or I break it down.” I could hear him groan and Embry suggested that maybe we should just leave but I wasn’t backing down from this. I heard a car turn into the gravel driveway and I asked Embry to quick go see who it was.
“It’s your dad.” He said quickly after he popped his head around the corner.
“Come on Jake this is serious Charlie is here.” I finally heard his feet touch the floor and shuffle rapidly to unlock the door pulling me inside and shutting Embry out. “Thank you.” He grumbled something inaudible and laid back down on his bed face down in a pillow. I forgot momentarily why I was here in the first place since his naked upper half had me in a trance.
“Really man?” Embry finally said something from the other side and I laughed but his footsteps padded away probably to go converse with my dad.
“Now what’s this I hear about you not going?” I sat next to him on the bed his body radiating heat.
“Prom blows.”
“Oh please, you were excited a few weeks ago.” I rolled my eyes debating whether I could get away with giving him a back massage just to feel his skin.
“Things change.” I was getting sick of his two word answers that were muffled by the pillow in the first place.
“Now you listen to me, you are going tonight do you understand me!” I whispered harshly since my dad couldn’t hear my voice by any means. “You only go to prom twice in your life and you’re not missing it just because an engaged woman doesn’t wanna be your date.” He growled loudly and turned to give me a look of hatred opening his mouth to say something but he must have decided against it when his head hit the pillow again.
“Well I’m not going alone and it’s way too late to find a date at this point since it’s in three hours.” I decided to just go ahead and massage his back he tensed up but then relaxed so I figured he really didn’t mind or else he would say something.
“I have a suggestion even though I’m sure it’s not one you’ll like.” I waited for an answer but he said nothing, “I could be your date although you probably wish it was anyone but me.” He still remained silent as I continued to run my hands over his perfectly toned back. A few minutes passed and I stopped rubbing on him and went to go sit on the only chair in his room. I had the urge to climb out his window but I couldn’t risk it not with my dad being right in the other room.
“You don’t have a dress.” He lifted his head and turned on his side so he was facing me.
“Oh don’t I.” I raised an eyebrow at him, “girls know everything Jake, especially me I’m always right and I knew Bella would never say yes so I decided to be ready for the inevitable fact that I was going to be your date.”
He let the room envelop in silence again, his eyes were boring into mine but it was quiet nonetheless. Embry’s knuckles raping against the door jolted me from our staring contest. “Your dad’s gone.” I stood Jake’s beautiful coffee eyes following my movement I bent down and kissed his cheek.
“Your welcome.” I whispered before I unlocked the door and saw Embry again latching elbows. “Oh and we’ll be at Sam’s, I expect you to be there in two hours and looking extremely sexy.” I punched Embry since he sniggered at my comment. Tonight was going to be great, I couldn’t even hold in my excitement as Embry nearly threw up at my happiness level while we were in his car.
