Paint Me a Picture

"I-I...um...yes" I was having trouble getting my thoughts together at the moment so it took me a moment to process what he had just asked me. A smile instantly came onto his face and he pulled me into an embrace before he took the box off the cake and opened it. It was an engagement ring. It was the shape of heart. He slipped it onto my finger and I smiled. Tears were coming down my face and he wiped them away as he looked back up at me. He kissed my cheek lightly. I felt like things were finally getting better.

When we got home, we both went into his room. I took out some paint and decided to draw the picture, but I had gotten a few ideas from Gerard's proposal. I started drawing the outline of a boy and a girl on the beach. When I was done I smiled in satisfaction. I climbed into bed with Gerard and fell asleep with him. I would send out the picture in the morning.
