"What... Of course, Mike, what makes you think so? No one could ever destroy our friendship!"

Now I knew the Tre bit was all a dream... and I felt almost sick, for hoping it was real.

Face it, he'll never love you.

"I just know," his voice brought me back to reality.

"I just know it can happen." He said, letting go of my hand.

"Mike, what's wrong with you, you're so different today."

He looked away. Bad sign. I know him, if he looks away, he's lying.

"It's nothing, Bill, I'm just fine..."

I took his hand again, and forced him to look at me. What's on your mind?

I had a doubt, but I didn't want to know if I was right, or not.

"So..." he began,

"If we're best friends... we tell each other everything, right?"

Where is he trying to go?

"Sure, Mikes." I smiled reassuringly.

He smiled back, but in his eyes I saw something which scared me. Really scared me.

"Oh, come here." I said, took a step forward and hugged him. He didn't do anything at first, he was like frozen, but then he hugged me back.

And right then I noticed how tall he was. How he was leaning on my shoulders, his arms behind my back.

We let go after a while, but he kept his arms around me, staring at me. This was so awkward...

Then, kinda like it happened in my dream, only this was Mike and not Tre, we made eye-contact.

So, I searched. I searched for every possible, little detail, which could tell me something about this situation. There it was! Now, shit, what am I gonna do? He sure is my best friend, but I didn't want him to get to know it that way... I was still unsure, though, so I thought about my dream again, and got inspiration.

"Stranger?" I whispered.

He didn't answer, nor did he have a puzzled look. He was just... what, hurt? No way.

Before I realize it, he leant in, his lips barely touching mine, and not even a second after that, he broke the hug and ran.

I was so shocked. Up to now, I still can't say if he did kiss me for real.
