“I never thought I’d find a pregnant woman this beautiful,” he said, and he pressed a kiss to her bared stomach, smiling against her skin. He heard her laugh softly and felt her fingers brush through his hair, and he hummed softly as he kissed the small bump again. “I love you.”

She smiled, gazing down at him, and she nearly melted as he pressed kiss after kiss to her stomach, speaking softly to their baby. She felt a slight flutter in her stomach in response to his words, and she laughed softly as his kisses trailed up her stomach, past her scrunched up nightshirt, and along her collarbones. “You’re incredible,” she breathed, and he lifted his head just enough to smile at her, and then he returned to the task at hand. His lips made their way up her neck, along her jaw line, and then finally came to a stop beside her own mouth, and she smiled up at him, both of her hands now gently nestled in his hair.

He was beaming as he gazed down at her, and he kissed her forehead before kissing her lips. She released a passive sigh into the kiss, her fingers tightening just slightly in his hair, and he chuckled, drawing back before kissing her again. She shifted beneath him, his hands shifting their positions on her waist, thumbs brushing over her stomach, and he smiled. Her skin was warm, and his hands were cool, and she shivered as that cool touch moved across her stomach. There was a gentleness in him when they were alone that he didn’t really exhibit otherwise, and she couldn’t help but feel lucky as he kissed her softly and caressed her sides.

Her hands slipped from his hair to his neck, holding onto him and keeping him close, and she sighed once more as his lips broke away from hers and found her neck. He smiled against her skin, making his way across her throat as she tilted her head back for him, and he breathed out something that sounded like ‘thank you’, and she smiled, closing her eyes. It felt incredible to have Yuu close like this after months of being apart, and the flutters of their son moving around inside her were more comforting than ever with him there to feel it.

“You’re making him go crazy,” she breathed, and she heard him chuckle.

“Sorry,” he said softly. And his thumbs caressed her stomach, and he smiled against her skin. Sorry, little man, I’m busy. “Just trying to show his mom how much I love her.”

“Mm.” She smiled, and she shifted beneath him a little. “I think you’re making him jealous.”

“Am I?” She nodded, laughing quietly, and though he couldn’t see the nod, he felt her chin brushing against his hair, and he chuckled. The vibrations against her skin sent shivers right through her, and she smiled softly at him as he lifted his head. “Can’t play favorites, then, can I?” He smiled, and then he leaned down so that he could kiss her, and she felt as though she could melt against his lips. She could feel the slight curve of his smile, and she could feel his warm breath, and she could feel his palms gently caressing her skin. Her fingertips slipped upward, catching a few strands of his hair, and when he broke the kiss to return his attention to her stomach, she caught hold of one of his hands and placed it over the flutter that was their growing son.

He smiled as he gently kissed her skin, and he let his hand rest where she’d put it, waiting to feel what she was feeling. A few seconds passed with nothing incredible happening, and then, just as he kissed her stomach again and hummed softly, he felt the slightest of flutters beneath his palm. He paused, lifting his head enough to look at her, and she watched as the warmest of smiles appeared on his face.

“That’s…”

“Our baby.” Her voice was soft, and she smiled, and she could feel the tears in the corners of her eyes. “Yuu, love, that’s your son.” His smile widened, and hers softened, and she bit her lip as he pressed a kiss to where his hand had been.

“Greetings, akachan,” he whispered, and she could hear his voice shaking. She’d never seen him like this- this was Yuu at his softest, at his most heartfelt, at his most vulnerable. “It’s about time you showed up.” He smiled, feeling the flutter again, and he looked up as he heard Natasha release a shaking breath. She was smiling softly at him, her fingers brushing through his hair, and he could see the tears forming in her eyes. “I love you,” he said softly.

“I love you, too.”

His smile was enough to melt her as he shifted upward once more- he laid on his side next to her, and he rested his hand on her cheek, turning her head. A tear was making its way down her cheek, and he gave her a warm smile, brushing it away. And then he kissed her, and it was one of the softest kisses they’d ever shared. “Thank you,” he breathed, and his words were barely able to escape between kisses. Without you, I’d be waiting years for this.

She let out a ghost of a laugh, cupping the nape of his neck and turning onto her side. His hand rested on her waist, just above her hip, and she couldn’t help but smile. This, she was now sure, was fate.
