lawnmowers.

When Kouyou offers Akira a daffodil at the tender age of seven, Akira scoffs and tells him to quit it, that he only likes girls, that no, he doesn't want to kiss him. And Kouyou bites his lip, throws the flower away from them, and watches as the lawnmower his daddy is pushing catches it and tears it to pieces. He knows that it's girly to cry, but he can't help but let a few tears creep out when he plops down next to Akira, the shade of the tree in his front yard protecting them from the August sunshine.

The boy shrugs, goes back to playing with the grass, “You're pretty like a girl, so I guess I like you too.”

Kouyou blushes.
